You want to talk valuable? Who made Van Slyke and Bonilla, any good? Bonds. Bonds hit behind those guys. he was the protection.
Who led his team to the World Series? Not Bonds' Pirates. It was Pendleton's Braves.
it's pendleton's braves? I guess their great rotation was nothing. Also, Ron Gant's 30 Hr 100+ RBI season meant nothing? Between gant's numbers and Glavine's awesome year, i would hardly call it pendleton's braves.
Lastly, MVP is voted on before the playoffs, so it doesn't matter how far they got.

Molitor was always one of my favorite players. I used to love watching the Brewer's (Harvey's Wallbangers) play and especially Molitor. He was one of the hardest working players I've seen and definately Hall worthy.

I know that. I'm just saying that in the end, Pendleton's team went the farthest.

So what? Bonds had Bonilla and Smiley. But it was still Barry's team.

first thing, i never said it was pendleton's Braves. You did.
I would hardly say Bonds had Bonilla, more like Bonilla had Bonds. Bonds protected Bonilla in the lineup. And if i recall pendleton was protected by Gant. Throw in the awesome rotation the braves, and after all that i wouldn't call it pendleton's Braves.

Why does it matter who's team it was? You could say it was Glavine's Braves, Justice's Braves, Smoltz's Braves. It just doesn't matter. The bottom line is, Pendleton was the most important player in the NL in 1991.

no he wasn't. Bonds was (should've been) MVP that year. The Pirates had less good players than the Braves, yet still made it to the NLCS.

The Braves wouldn't have knocked off the Dodgers in the West without Pendleton. The Pirates probably would have made it to the NLCS with or without Bonds.
Btw, has there ever been a year you thought Bonds shouldn't have won the MVP?

you mentioned earlier that Pendleton was the main reason the Braves went from worst to first (90-91). He was a big part, but nowhere near the biggest. The maturation of the pitching staff was the biggest part.

And isn't that what the MVP award is all about?

Huh? Show me where I said he was the biggest reason.

believe me i know what the MVP is all about. it means Most valuable to his team. And Bonds was more valuable to the Pirates than Pendleton was to the Braves.

Nope. We won our division by 1 game. PITT won theirs by 14. Don't tell me Bonds was more valuable.

winning your division by less games proves nothing. In fact i'm not sure what you're trying to prove.
Actually i believe i am telling you Bonds was more valuable.

You know exactly what I'm trying to prove.
Braves - Pendleton = 2nd place
Pirates - Bonds = 1st place
