Here is the response to this on another board made by a Liberal that goes by the name <span style='color:red'>"Arendt"</span> that DOESN'T like Bush, OR me, about this "Chain-Letter" going around to you parrots:

Quote:<span style='color:red'>Folks, this list is full of lies, half-truths, and rumours.

When opponents of Bush trot out this garbage and call it 'essentially accurate' they not only do no damage to Bush, they make their own position untenable. It makes us look like the loonies hollering "Vince Foster was murdered."

Bush makes enough mistakes that we don't have to depend upon crap like this to point out his flaws.</span>

I'm just really sorry that the Democrats aren't
going to be able to field a decent candidate.
Bush is reeeeally scary :)

<span style='color:red'>True</span>

COLLEGE: I graduated from Yale University...

<span style='color:red'>and an MBA from Harvard</span>

I cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas treasury to the tune of billions in borrowed money.

<span style='color:red'>The Texas treasury is not bankrupt.</span>

I spent the U.S. surplus and effectively bankrupted the U.S.
Treasury.

<span style='color:red'>Again, large deficits do not mean bankrupt.</span>

I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in U.S. history.

<span style='color:red'>Only by the size of the dollar amount. Reagan's was larger when inflation is factored in AND by percentage of GDP</span>

an economic record for most private bankruptcies
filed in any 12-month period.

<span style='color:red'>That's because the senate changed the rules on personal bankruptcy, setting the scene for a whole boatload of people deciding if they didn't do it now, they wouldn't be able to do it after the new rules came into play.</span>

I set the all-time record for the biggest drop in the
history of the U.S. stock market.

<span style='color:red'>Again, depends upon whether you count pure numbers or as a percentage. In this case the pure number arguement is more relevant, but the percentage is arguably still the most important.</span>

I am the first president in U.S. history to enter office
with a criminal record.

<span style='color:red'>The dui was expunged from the record, so this one is false.</span>

After taking-off the entire month of August, I presided over the worst security failure in U.S.history.

<span style='color:red'>No on two levels: presiding over does not equal blame. And it was not the worst security failure in U.S. history. Anyone remember Pearl Harbor?</span>

I am supporting development of a nuclear "Tactical Bunker
Buster," a WMD.

<span style='color:red'>The 'bunker buster' isn't a WMD. It is a nuke. The terms are not always interchangeable. </span>

In my State Of The Union Address, I lied about our reasons for attacking Iraq, then blamed the lies on our British friends.

<span style='color:red'>What he said was technically true - the brits had made that statement to us. That is what keeps it from being an impeachable offense. </span>

I set the record for most campaign fundraising trips by a U.S. president.

<span style='color:red'>I find this one highly doubtful. Clinton and Reagan both had 8 years to set the benchmark.</span>

In my first year in office over 2-million Americans lost their jobs and that trend continues every month.

<span style='color:red'>No, that trend has reversed. not fully, but the jobs rate is climbing.</span>

I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period.

<span style='color:red'>I find this one highly suspect as well. </span>

I appointed more convicted criminals to administration than
any president in U.S. history.

<span style='color:red'>suspect as well.</span>

I set the record for least amount of press conferences
than any president since the advent of television.

<span style='color:red'>While I don't like this fact, I'm not certain that it's an offense.</span>

I presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S. history.

<span style='color:red'>Pure numbers vs. adjusted for inflation again. When adjusted, the prices during the oil embargoes of the 70s were higher.</span>

I have set the all-time record for most people worldwide to
simultaneously protest me in public venues (15
million people) shattering the record for
protest against any person in the history of
mankind. I've broken more international
treaties than any president in U.S. history.

<span style='color:red'>bull****.</span>

I'm proud that the members of my cabinet are
the richest of any administration in U.S.

<span style='color:red'>Again, when adjusted for inflation, many other administrations would be in the running for this one. Think the first 4 administrations - almost all wealthy landowners.[color]

My "poorest millionaire," Condoleeza
Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her.

[color=red]had. was renamed shortly after the shrubbery was inaugurated.</span>

I am the first president in U.S. history to order an unprovoked, preemptive attack and the military occupation of a sovereign nation.

<span style='color:red'>nope. Phillipines 1899. Cuba and Nicarauga in the 1920s.</span>

I did so against the will of the United Nations,

<span style='color:red'>nope. the UN never said no. they couldn't because we hold veto power, but the organization never actually said no.</span>

the majority of U.S. citizens,

<span style='color:red'>Bull. The majority agreed (and still agree) that invading Iraq was necessary. Of course, the majority of Americans still think that Saddam was behind 9/11.</span>

I created the Ministry of Homeland Security, the largest bureaucracy and violation of personal privacy in the history of the United States government.

<span style='color:red'>It's a department, not a ministry. Seems the author is Canadian.

And the department of homeland security is not in and of itself a "violation of personal privacy"</span>

I am the first president in U.S. history to have the United Nations remove the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission.

<span style='color:red'>Would have happened regardless of white house occupant. The commission switched to rotating membership.</span>

withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law.

<span style='color:red'>Are we speaking of the International Court of Justice or the International Criminal Court? We withdrew from the latter but not the former to my knowledge.</span>

I am the first president in history to refuse
United Nations election inspectors (during the
2002 U.S. election).

<span style='color:red'>He's the only president in history to have them offered. </span>

I am the all-time U.S. and world record-holder for receiving the most corporate campaign donations.

<span style='color:red'>Doubtful besides the inflation adjusted figures.</span>

I garnered the most sympathy for the U.S. after the World Trade Center attacks and less than a year later made
the U.S. the most hated country in the world,
the largest failure of diplomacy in world history.

<span style='color:red'>In world history? That's a pretty tall order. Again, rather doubtful.</span>

All records of my tenure as Governor of Texas are now in my father's library, sealed, and unavailable for public
view.

<span style='color:red'>nope. fully available for public view. Just ask Howard Dean about this misconception.</span>

All records of SEC investigations into my insider trading and my bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view.

<span style='color:red'>nope. they are available. whether it's all of them or not remains to be seen, but it appears to be so.</span>

That was dumb as hell. "I suspect this is untrue" and "this seems dubious to me" don't refute jack. Neither does "if you look at the numbers or facts my way, that is not correct." There are more things wrong with his "refutation" than I have time or the inclination to address.

Everything has already been rebunked many times before. You aren't worth the trouble of going through it again as, quite frankly, you don't matter. Don't vote for Bush. I am sure it will hurt him.

That cost me one and a half years of recess because it was a danger to our health.

Next time try *DEBUNKING* it, you might actually learn something. Although, you're right...it's better for you if you don't try, your chances for success are very slim.

As a past (and possibly near future) resident of the fine city of Houston, I hope to again someday see the tops of the buildings downtown.

See, that's a STUPID ****** argument. Gray Dufus caused that. You liberals try to pin everything on Bush. Hell, you could get constipated and it would somehow be Bush's fault. I no longer feel like arguing with people that are stupid enough to believe this.

Why let facts get in the way of your irrational hatred, Kev? Who cares that Gray Davis was Governor of California, or that Houston (the city being discussed  ) is in Texas? Who cares that Bush gutted the environmental laws and folks in Houston now have one of, if not the highest, cancer rate in the nation? Or are you going to defute and rebunk these facts, too?
