<a href='http://chem.tufts.edu/science/pigliucci/rationally-speaking/02-11-rogue_nation.htm' target='_blank'>Op-ed column</a>

I know many of you will not read this and just say this guy is a baby-killing, Saddam-loving, tree-huggin, pinko commie librul but please read the column. It's only about 600 words and a quick read.

Anyway, he articulates some of the key problems/issues for America. What this writer says has been brought up (by both sides) countless times on this forum.

Isn't every country a self serving rogue state. How many countries would step on anothers toes in order to get something they want. It's human kind unfortunately and the U.S. represents it on a large scale.

So why do we deem some nations "rogues" if we all do it?

We either need to, as a nation, be more moral and even-handed about our foreign policies, or we need to get rid of the state dept. list of rogue states. Since the first option is out of the question, we should assume the second.

Rogue Nations to the State Department=Countries selling weapons, that the U.S. have no clue of where they are heading. Russia does the same thing as N. Korea, but they have more weapons and we wouldn't dare amass troops near their border. So if you have a small country and are selling large weapons abroad you are a rogue state.

Israel!

Small state that buys our weapons, and then sells some of them to god-knows-who!

Yes.

We're also the largest state-sponsored terrorist organization in the world.

Now I'm getting redundant, I guess. :D

For now, Japan, Germany, and the Roman Empire in the past. Probally China in the future. It's a nasty cycle of trying to rule the world. If everyone could mind their own business we would live in a nice world, but i guess that is not the case, so who's next Syria(Just Kidding)?
