I went to an 'alternative' high school in Chicago's loop from 1966-1969, located in the loop, just a block from Grant Park. 1 Since we had a very 'progressive' outlook, we were in close touch with the anti-war movement, and many of their representative visited our school weekly. These groups included the Vietnam Veterans Against the War, the Students for a Democratic Society, the Black Panthers, the Yippies and many more. A number of our students lived in the Old Town area of Chicago, which at that time was a veritable mecca for the anti-war movement, since the Earl of Old Town, the Old Town School of Folk Music, Barbara's Bookstore, the "Seed" Newspaper, and the many folk clubs were havens for hippies and peace activists from across the nation.
I was in Chicago's Grant Park in 1968 on a number of evenings, including the early night of the notorious "Police Riot" on Balbo Drive during the Democratic National Convention - I was there.
It was common knowledge amongst students in those days that the "Vietnam Veterans Against the War" were mostly drug addicts who could always be counted to sell you some good marijuana or LSD - if you were looking to buy dope, they were the guys to see. It was also an open secret that these same "Veterans' would be glad to trade some sex (Oral, anal or vaginal) for drugs and many of the young girls were able to get their drugs in this way. It was also widely known that many were also homosexuals who were seeking adolescent boys for their sexual pleasures.
John Kerry was an important figure in this group of drug pushers - was he a part time drug dealer 2 too?

I don't know, but I DO KNOW that these guys were pitied by almost everyone - most were known to have very bad drug habits, and we all knew they had to peddle dope since they could no longer be employed, due to their severe drug problems.
So, if we're going to bring up the Vietnam era and the VILE TRAITORS that betrayed out great nation, why not be HONEST about these seditious drug pushers?
So how about some HONESTY about the "Vietnam Veterans Against the War"?

So why doesn't someone just GET RID OF THIS TRAITOROUS GAY BASTARD NOW? (and get FONDA TOO!)

I'm sorry, I don't go gaga over the "he used to do drugs" argument. I got a feeling that we would have a hard time finding many people that were between the ages of 15-35 during the 60's and 70's that didn't use drugs of some sort.

Now, if someone is currently hooked on some drugs, that is a different story. We were all young once, and most of us (probably all of us) did some stuff that we regret now. :)

Yeah, considering you're "standing" with one of the biggest public drunks on record, I see why you're soft on addicts. :laugh:
