Jr. has hit 494 Home Runs. 20th best all time. The Reds are 30-21 Tied for the top spot in the National League with Jack's Fishes. Pittsburg finally dropped below .500. Not bad for the Central Division collectively. Sean Casey is hitting .394, best in MLB hitting 2 Home Runs yesterday. Danny Graves has 155 career saves 51st all time. Paul Wilson has 7 saves this year. Tied for second for the season. I'll quit now, but these guys are INFUEGO!!!

He's amazing. He's never great, but he always does enough to finish off a win. It's like Adam Dunn said "If you're up by 3, Graves will give up two runs. But he'll never blow the lead."

that's why i hate the current save rule. it's so dumb. If you come into a game up by 3 runs, with none on and none out, and you blow the game you have to really suck. To me, it's no great thing if you don't blow a 3 run lead. That's not a shot at graves, i just hate the save rule, period.

Herd Fan 4-Life Wrote:That lead was blown by Reidling...one of the two good pitchers in the pen, according to you. Those things happen. Bottom line, Jones pitched scoreless ball and Graves picked up his Major league leading 24th save.
the only reason i said reidling was good, is because he is a rare breed of reds reliever that has an era below his age

My point was that he always does just enough to win.

swept the Marlins in Florida!!! 04-rock
Valentin was a big help to Lidle by throwing out every base-stealer today! But Felipe Lopez is still pretty shaky with his throws, committing 2 errors today :bang: :bang:

next up, Expos. Go Reds!

Thanks, Reds. If we win tonight we'll only be 2 1/2 games out of first.

Reds sweep Marlins.
Some extras from the game...

Dontrelle Willis made the pitch he wanted. Sean Casey still wasn't fooled.

Casey's homer off left-hander Matt Perisho -- brought in to face the major leagues' leading hitter -- helped cap a three-game sweep of Florida, which hadn't been swept at home since San Francisco took three straight in May 2003.

``Unbelievable, huh? There's not much else you can say about him,'' said Reds manager Dave Miley, whose team improved its NL-best record to 32-21.

Brian Reith (2-1), who worked a scoreless eighth, got his second win in as many days. Danny Graves worked a perfect ninth for his major league-leading 26th save in 30 chances.

Casey, who raised his average to .391

Cincinnati is 12-3 in its last 15 games

I have tickets to the July 3rd game vs the Pirates, but he'll most assuredly be over 500 by then!

Associated Press
CINCINNATI -- Ken Griffey Jr. hit two homers Sunday, giving the Reds slugger 498 for his career.

He homered in the first and third innings of Cincinnati's game against the Montreal Expos. He has 17 this season and needs two more to become the 20th major leaguer to reach 500.

Griffey has three home runs in Cincinnati's last two games and nine in his last 14 games. He has hit two homers in a game 48 times in his career and two or more 50 times.

He tied the score at 3-3 in the third with his 100th homer since joining the Reds before the 2000 season. He pulled the first pitch from right-hander Livan Hernandez 409 feet to right field with two outs.

In the first inning, Griffey hit a 3-2 pitch from Hernandez to left field with two outs and D'Angelo Jimenez on second base.

you're correct about that. Their hitting keeps bailing them out. don't worry, hitting goes into slumps.
