Quote:ut abortion advocates aren't rallying to Kerry's view of conception, so they're not arguing church-state separation, either. In summary, they have lost ground on science, emotional appeals, constitutional law … What's left?

Insanity. Meet Amy Richards, whose "When One is Enough" article in The New York Times Magazine told of how she unregretfully aborted two of her triplets because it would mean "shopping only at Costco and buying big jars of mayonnaise." Without the abortions, she exclaimed, "I'd have to give up my life!" That life is one where she's a Planned Parenthood leader, a consultant to Gloria Steinem, and founder of the Third Wave Foundation, which funds abortions. She's also one of the brains behind Planned Parenthood T-shirts that proudly proclaim, "I had an abortion."

having to go to costco & buying bulk mayonaise is good reason to have an abortion.

Exactly.

13 million children die every year because people are selfish and treat life like something you buy at Wal Mart.

It's sickening, and it plagues our nation.

Where do you get your 13 million/year stat?

Most sites I've read estimate 1 million/year.

BTW, thanks for the article Safety Eagle.

Here's a fact.

By supporting abortion, you support killing an child and denying that child the RIGHT to a life that you so selfishly possess.

How's that for a fact?

Oh, I forgot, it's a "choice". I mean, everyone should be able to choose whether or not to kill someone, right?

BTW- This has nothing to do with religion. Murderers are sent to jail, abortion doctors are given awards. It doesn't take a religious person to realize that absolute travesty and hypocricy taking place in our nation.

Christianity Today is not exactly an objective source on this debate, fellas.

You wouldn't accept The Nation or Mother Jones as an evenhanded outlet for an article on the subject, either...

No, that's not a fact. That's an emotional argument and a rhetorical device. You need to spend more time reading up on science and less time being brainwashed in your southern church...

God, you have to be the most pathetic, ignorant, self absorbed a-hole I have ever met.

It DOESN'T mean you support killing a child?

Please, Papa, fill me in. Tell me what REALLY happens when an abortion takes place. Tell me what they REALLY do, that prevents them from having to KILL a child's life.

I'd love to hear this, Mr. Scientific.

And then we have the "brainwashing" in the Church phrase- priceless!!! Just because we have a faith in something means that we're just ignorant idiots running around!!

You need to buy a clue and stop talking out of your @$$.

If you can dispute that an abortion is the killing of a child's life, then I'd LOVE to hear it.

you know i read all the associated articles and i read the costco womans story, it made me want to vomit. im tired of secularist liars like yourself trying to justify the murder of innocent unborn human beings. the fact that this womans reasoning for murdering 2 of her triplets was coz it would ruin her lifestyle. 1 child is going to change your lifestyle, if you dont want children to alter your life, then get your
sexual organs disabled, pure and simple then you wont have to worry about it. as i have said before abortion isnot a suitable form of birth control. my wife and i have 2 kids we want to have one more, after which my wife will have her tubes tied to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. this is called having responsibility, something pro-choicers know nothing about

There, Papa, that's what YOU support. That's what you LIE about and say that it's not killing. That's what you claim is RIGHT for America.

That's a partial birth abortion. And yes, they pull it out and cut it's head to kill it.

I wouldn't exactly call myself religious, but I do believe in God. I do consider myself a Christian. With that said, what in the HELL does religion have to do with murdering children? If preventing children from being slaughtered is "forcing" a religion on someone, then the religion being forced is the value of life. If you associate that with religion, then you are lacking in the morals department.

* There are approximately 126,000 abortions conducted each day.

Abortion Statistics - U.S.

* Approximately 1,370,000 abortions occur annually in the U.S. according to the Alan Guttmacher Institute. Click here to see the approximate number of abortions in the U.S. per year from 1973-1996. In 2001, 1.31 million abortions took place.
* 88% of abortions occur during the first 6 to 12 weeks of pregnancy.

I just found out all about you I ever needed to know, Papa Lou.

Funny how "tolerance" suddenly flies out the window when it's someone a liberal decides to be prejudiced against, huh?

And whatever science justifies partial BIRTH abortion must fall somewhere between the Nutty Professor and Dr. Doom. The fact that you can coldly talk about murder as "choice" yet scream bloody murder about panties on someone's head at Abu Ghraib shows how twisted the liberal mind is.

Human rights, indeed.

Apropos of the woman who chose to abort two of three children, if this story is true, it puts me in mind of Sophie's Choice, except for the fact that the woman who elected to kill two of the children seemed not to care in the least which she chose to die. It freezes my blood to think that a person could do such a thing. How could she possibly love the one she spared? What indeed would her "love" mean? How could she ever explain to the survivor that she needed to kill that child's siblings? Or will she? How perverse are we to consider that woman to be anything but a monster?

Legalized abortion in this country is as great an evil, as profound an evil, as genocide on the industrial scale. What makes it worse, were that possible, is that there are a number of effective birth control measures available, and no shame in using them. Even if a woman becomes pregnant with a child she does not want, there are thousands who would gladly take her child. There is simply no good argument to be made for abortion.

The pro-abort crowd goes to every extent to de-humanize embryos and fetuses, yet the plain and unrefuted fact remains that they are each unique beings who will, absent some misfortune, be born and live human lives. There is no discontinuity between conception and death, only the process of development, and I despise and fear those who would attempt to ignore this truth by focusing on such asides as "viability" (what does that mean now in the era of partial birth abortion?) and "a woman's right to choose". Of course a woman has the right to choose whether to become pregnant, and indeed many means are available to prevent it. But killing a being in utero crosses the line between the right to choose and murder.

I pulled them from here:

http://womensissues.about.com/cs/abortions...ortionstats.htm

They seem rather neutral to me. Ultimately, I don't really know.

I have to admit that I posted the stats to try keeping the argument going. It was getting pretty funny with all the people spitting fire.
