"The truth, which is what elections are all about, is that the tax burden of the middle class has gone up while the tax burden of the middle class has gone down."--John Kerry, quoted by the Associated Press, Aug. 25

That is brilliant! In the sentence, he has to have told the truth, no matter what the truth is.
There are a total of 3 options for the truth.
1. The tax burden on the middle class has increased-->Yup, he said that.
2. The tax burden on the middle class has decreased-->yup, he said that too.
3. The tax burden on the middle class has not changed.--Indirectly, he said that. How, you ask. Well, by simple deduction he can say that the "increased" and "decreased" statements offset each other, thus they show that the tax burden on the middle class has remained stagnant!
What a maroon! :stupid:

About midway through the article.
<a href='http://www.nytimes.com/2004/08/25/politics/campaign/25wire-kerry.html?ex=1251172800&en=a666cbaba8cbe651&ei=5090&partner=rssuserland' target='_blank'>Linky</a>
Hope it works. Sometimes the NYT is flaky with direct links. Let me know if it doesn't and I'll copy and paste the article.
And after you read it, consider the irony of Kerry (an admitted war-criminal) calling on Rumsfeld to resign.

That's exactly what we are talking about. You guys are so apt to point out Bush's grammatical mistakes but when Kerry does it, it's no big deal. Hypocritical to say the least. Kinda like the 527 deal. Kerry was fine with them until he started to get attacked. Now he wants them stopped.

Thanks.
Quote:Seven current or former Senate Democrats, all veterans, wrote Bush that "you owe a special duty" to condemn attacks on Kerry's wartime service and said "a firmly established service record in the United States military is fully above reproach."
Isn't that what this is all about? His service record isn't firmly established, and he won't release it. I get tired of these logical fallacies. How much smoke can you really hide behind?

If he says stuff like this, I wonder what his wedding sounded like, especially if he wrote his own vows.
