If you're suggesting that folks at the Associated Press like to use fear to sell their goods, I don't think you'll get any argument here.

In fact you'll want to read <a href='http://www.pfm.org/AM/Template.cfm?Section=BreakPoint_Commentaries1&CONTENTID=13384&TEMPLATE=/CM/ContentDisplay.cfm' target='_blank'>this commentary</a> which suggests the same sort of conclusion!

Wait, I can do this too.

Clinton: "Yes, I got a BJ in the most prestigious office in America and cheated on my wife and lied to the American public"

A month later.....

Clinton "Let's bomb Iraq, and hit a warehouse used for aspirin production".

But you're right, Tom Ridge shouldn't speak on matters of national security.

Perhaps if it wasn't for all the political Pressure from the Dems and the nations so called leaders and representitives squabbling and slandering then we could conduct the war proper, as in the beginning. Its apparent the political divide is killing our troops. We should have wiped out Fallujah back in April, as I posted at the time.

Our government officials as well as a minority of citizens are too worried about their own agendas and to appease the world and it has changed the course of this war, if I were President, I would resume bombing, take your pick, Iraqis or US Soldiers who do you prefer die.
I'll vote for Iraqis, their freedom and reform will not come without much bloodshed, with our military might the country could have been secured a few months ago.

Discrediting you is so easy, it's almost no fun...almost. Let's see your theory of "timing terror warnings to hide death tolls" go down in flames. Most recent first:

International Herald Tribune - August 29, 2004:

"Credible reporting now indicates that Al Qaeda is moving forward with its plans to carry out a large-scale attack in the United States in an effort to disrupt our democratic process."

<a href='http://www.iht.com/articles/536271.html' target='_blank'>http://www.iht.com/articles/536271.html</a>

MSNBC - August 25, 2004

Protecting an incumbent president, officials say, is a more complicated mission. And this convention comes closer to the election, which intelligence analysts say al-Qaida seems determined to disrupt. (Not even a Tom Ridge quote)

<a href='http://msnbc.msn.com/id/5821572/' target='_blank'>http://msnbc.msn.com/id/5821572/</a>

BostonHerald.com - August 17, 2004

Terrorists have planned attacks on financial institutions in New York, Washington and Newark, New Jersey, Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge said Aug. 1. They may also be planning attacks to disrupt the U.S. presidential election Nov. 2 as they did in Spain in March, he said.

<a href='http://business.bostonherald.com/businessNews/view.bg?articleid=40243' target='_blank'>http://business.bostonherald.com/businessN...articleid=40243</a>

ABCNews.com - August 13. 2004

The administration remains deeply concerned about information uncovered separately in the spring suggesting al-Qaida was plotting a major attack inside the United States perhaps in August or September to disrupt the elections, the first official said.

<a href='http://abcnews.go.com/wire/Politics/ap20040813_108.html' target='_blank'>http://abcnews.go.com/wire/Politics/ap2004...040813_108.html</a>

Yahoo! News - August 10, 2004

The latest disclosures of al Qaeda's plans for another major attack in New York City in hopes of disrupt ing the election should finally put the lie to those who claim the recent terror alert was a politically timed sham.

<a href='http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=106&ncid=742&e=3&u=/nypost/20040810/cm_nypost/astepaheadofterror' target='_blank'>http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...epaheadofterror</a>

With all this "evidence" why hasn't the national security level been raised?

Apparently the "evidence" isn't that good after all.

Or there is no "evidence".

Discredting you is much easier.

It was raised in the areas of the country where the evidence suggested attacks might happen. For the country it is Yellow and for the areas affected, like NYC where I live, it is orange.

Debating isn't one of your strengths. It's ok to admit that. You would be doing yourself a favor.

Trooper really gets out of his element if he's forced to try and respond on his own instead of a link to a left wing website.

He's not exactly an "original" thinker.

Remember guys. Trooper, like all liberals, knows more about terrorism and our national security than the military, homeland security, the President, or the CIA. He, like all liberals, obviously knows when to heighten the alert code, and when not to. His superior anti-terrorism intellect gives him the ability to detect "faulty" alert warnings, since he himself can peer over into Iraq and Afghanistan from his computer desk in the U.S.

He is not alone. All liberals possess this superhuman power, and that is why it is simply too easy for them to discredit every terror warning given by our military on the ground and our Homeland Security Department here at home.

Let me let you all in on something........

Just because you neo cons have numbers on me doesn't necessarily mean that any of you are frigging rocket scientists.

It's more like a pack of hyenas.

All together I think there is a pretty intelligent bunch of folks who frequent this site. But no one, and that includes everyone, is head and shoulders above the rest of the pack.

In fact it seems that most of the conservative arguements eventually denigrate into name calling and questioning someone's intellectual capacities.

Because that's about all you really have.

So all of you can stick in in your a$$ for all I care. How's that for something on your level?
