Just a quick question for the debate watchers. What network did YOU watch & why?

I watched FoxNews because I enjoy their panel (Britt Hume, Mort Kondracke, Bill Kristol, et al.) discussions after the debates.

Make that two.

My reason? I don't like any other network.

PBS, I like the personalities, and they attempt to be objective. They bring opposing viewpoint without getting into shouting matches.

CNN because they always have opposing viewpoints. The shameless Fox News is banned in my house.

I guess I should have added....Without trashing the other networks. Just say why you watch what you watch.

:stupid:

As does Fox News. ....who is ahead of CNN, CNBC, and MSNBC combined. Now, who do you think is moderate? CNN? Or the medium that has most of the listeners in the country?

I know, I know, all the people that watch Fox are morons, right? Therein lies the problem with the liberals. If someone dares go against what they believe, they are somewhat less intelligent. Keep that "elitest" attitude up. It's doing wonders for the conservatives.

Gato...a legitimate question.

What part of Fox News don't you like? Is it the moderated opinion shows like Hannity and Colmes and O'Reilly? If so, I don't see how you can belittle Fox and then watch a network with the likes of Paul Begala and James Carville.

As far as the "straight news" goes...I honestly see no difference.

Here's the weird thing - during the Democratic and Republican conventions, I had to turn away from Fox and switch to MSNBC. The Fox pundits were trying so hard to be fair that they actually came off hypercritical of Republicans, and MSNBC (Matthews, Andrea Mitchell, et al) were trying so hard to be fair and balanced that they came off hypercritical of Democrats. It was really weird to hear Matthews talk about how much he loved the First Lady and the Bush twins while Fred Barnes and Mort Kondracke were slamming them on FOX.

I personally like FOX because I have a great deal of respect for Brit Hume, Greta Van Susteren and Neil Cavuto ("The Cost of Freedom" Saturday block is must see financial TV). O'Reilly? Hannity and Colmes? I can do with or without them...too noisy, like "Crossfire". I get nothing from those shows.

Just interested in the real reasons why people don't like FOX. Most people I know that don't like FOX, cite O'Reilly and little else. They really don't watch.

#1 - sorry for going off-topic and baiting in my first post

#2 - I admit to not watching Fox News much. I don't have a problem with a cable channel with a right wing slant. I do have a problem with them going out of their way to say "fair and balanced" when they clearly aren't.

Also, I hate James Carville, but I don't think CNN has ever said "Here is James Carville with some objective political viewpoints". If they did, I would change the station. I often do when he's on anyway.

As for Fox, When Al Gore was interrupted at the Democratic Convention so they could rip him mid-speech, it was pretty low class. Other than the debates themselves, I think the keynote addresses from each convention represent the most important TV time of an election year. At least let the man get his word out, then comment.

Fox news, with the exception of Hannity, is very fair and balanced. That must be why they beat the socks off of other news networks.

Hannity is offset by Colmes. That's fair and balanced. When a liberal's on, Hannity takes 'em first, when a conservative is on, Colmes takes 'em on first. That is fair and balanced.
