With all these political polls, I was gettin around to thinkin if they covered this:

All the polls have are percentages such as 42%-48%. These are also national polls. But this doesn't necessarily mean that whoever has the high percentage will win, right? Because these are all popular polls as opposed to a survey of state-by-state. With the electoral college, Kerry could win 100% of California and would still receive only 54 electoral votes. So do these polls really mean almost nothing other than who is more popular, than an actual look at who will win?

If I confused anyone, let me know.
