In another tactically proficient operation US and Iraqi forces raided two Mosques one in Baghdad and one near the Syrian Border. The terrorists are losing their safe havens and command and control capabilities, I think the country will be stabilized in the near future, lets just hope our troops can get back ASAP, hopefully within a couple of years at most.

Anyone seen that old movie "The Battle of Algiers"? There's a good line from that movie:

Col. Mathieu: We aren't madmen or sadists, gentlemen... We are soldiers and our only duty is to win. Should we remain in Algeria? [Iraq] If you answer "yes," then you must accept all the necessary consequences.

Our founding fathers put civilians in control of the military for a reason.

In any case, you are confusing "let(ting) the Generals run the war" with "it's after Nov. 2, and I don't have to worry about a bunch of American corpses hurting my re-election chances."

Roughly 100 Americans have been killed this month, making it the worst month since April, 2003, when we invaded.

I fear we've already lost Iraq and that it will take us a few more years to figure that out.
