Many on this site complain about Clinton bailing ouit of Somalia after things got a little rough, but what did Reagan do in Lebanon? Yesterday's WSJ had an interesting article on the state of Islamic Extremist's since that event and draws paralells with today's Iraq. I don't know if you guys have noticed but there have been alot of articles recently on how and under what conditions we pull out. Would Bush risk his legacy with an early pullout? The article I read said he would even be willing to give up the house in 06' than face an early withdrawl.
On last nights Frontline "Europe Al-Qeada's new frontier" it examined the current state of Al-Queda and where the movement stands. VERY IMFORMATIVE! Islamic extremist's are our problem. It talked about how Iraq has become a training ground and farm for them. Iraq validated in many mid-eaterners eyes what Osama's been preaching. America will invade any Islamic state that defies them. Their imperialistic in nature. They are only after oil. The perception becomes reality I'm afraid.
We are there. Can nation building be successful? In WWII, we had resources and a DEFEATED population to reconstruct. The reality of the matter now is totally different. I'm no longer debating the Iraq war. Under what conditions do you guys think we should pull out of Iraq?

You can view the Al-Quadea video here.
There's some phenomenal readings on the ties to Western countries and the effects of the Internet.
