Keep in mind, France and Germany are two of the countries liberals think we should pattern ourselves after.

<a href='http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2005/01/30/wgerm30.xml' target='_blank'>'If you don't take a job as a prostitute, we can stop your benefits'</a>

Quote:Under Germany's welfare reforms, any woman under 55 who has been out of work for more than a year can be forced to take an available job – including in the sex industry – or lose her unemployment benefit. Last month German unemployment rose for the 11th consecutive month to 4.5 million, taking the number out of work to its highest since reunification in 1990.

Whats that, 11 or 12% unemployement over there?

Ah the beauty of socialistic values. I don't see what she's so upset about. The government is providing her a means to a job. She should be grateful that she has this opportunity. I mean, there's nothing wrong with whoring one's self for the sexual pleasure of another human is it? It's legal there. So they should definately pull the unemployment benefits from this ungrateful women should she turn down this fantastic opportunity....

[that was sarcasm]

And the Liberals' assault on women continues. I hope the feminists are happy.

Prostitution should be legal -- but in a very controlled and regulated manner. It's kind of boneheaded not to. It will still happen on a LARGE scale if illegal, and without the benefit of preventing the spread of STDs. Might as well legalize and regulate it, and levy a tax on it. Do the same thing with drugs, and we can radically lower taxes and move towards the "national sales tax" model and make better and more prudent use of the tax resources while getting rid of the large and confusing amount of work necessary to abide by the current flawed and inefficient tax code.

As for Germany -- this should be no surprise. If you move to Germany, you aren't allowed to work for 5 years. Sehr Gut! Vunderbar!
