i think it'd be cool if everyone put there weekly power rankings on here, just like on other sports sites. the biggest problem is, how to do it? should it be 1-30 for the past week, or for the season? we'll start on monday.

Sounds good to me. I think it should reflect last week, but the whole year too. Example: You wouldn't put the Royals in the top 5 next week if they went 6-0 over the course of this week. You have to take what they've done for the season into consideration too.

Agreed.
I'll pin them for each week if you'd like.

No, I feel we're the best team in baseball, and taking 2 out of 3 from St. Louis made me put them over the Cards.

How is our staff not amazing? You've got Smoltz and Hudson at the top, two true aces, Hampton is pitching like a Cy Young winner, Thomson has an ERA around 3.00, and Ramirez has been very solid except for one start.
I will not fall into the trap of saying we'll win the World Series, because the playoffs are such a crapshoot, but I think with Smoltz, Hudson and Hampton we have to be the favorites in the NL.

john patterson has an excellent ERA, but he's not an amazing pitcher. do you really think hampton is that great? and thomson? and ramirez? honestly, that rotation is not enough to offset their poor bullpen and decent hitting.

Are you afraid to admit we have a strong rotation? In the offseason you talked about how overrated it was, while at the same time praising the Giants rotation. I think you even said one time that the Giants rotation was better. Maybe you don't want to admit how wrong you are to this point.
And comparing Patterson to Hampton, Thomson and Ramirez? Come on, swoosh, you know better than that.
