Yesterday marked the 70th anniversary of the Major's first night game between the Reds and Phillies at Crosley Field.
The Reds owner at the time introduced the idea because day time attendance for Reds games were dwindling. The night games proved to be a big hit, drawing 4 times as many attendance as the day games that time.
Today at GABP, one of the Crosley Field lights is still shining in the outfield, right by the smoke stacks.

Crosley Field was truly one of the greatest parks of all time. The elevated warning track was really cool.
