Some claim this was the first ever Rock and Roll song. Whatever, this guy was Chuck Berry before Chuck Berry. What say ye?

I enjoy that musical artists learn and are influenced from others. Chuck most certainly heard that song but made it his own.

I'd argue, but not now, that this is the first rock and roll song. And it sounds a bit like Oscar but came out 6 years before his tune.

Excellent points. Enjoyed the you tube you linked. On another day and maybe another thread I’d enjoy a discussion about either the first ever rock and roll song or examples of musicians borrowing from and building on the work of others.
