My true #1 country song. The lyrics are more true country than most of the songs out today. Many country singers came out in support of Lil Nas X because he actually sing in this song. Plus, the remix with Billy Ray Cyrus is shooting back up Billboards Country charts. Not bad for an indy artist.

While I can't quite call this country to me I can respect the fact that my man put country and hip hop together and got a legit country star to buy in and they came up with a catchy tune. I liken this combo to a spiritual successor to Anthrax and Public Enemy redoing PE's Bring the Noize. Would rap or rock radio give it the love that it earned by getting to of top bands in their genres doing it. I don't think the earlier Walk This Way with RUN DMC and Aerosmith is the same in that the Aerosmith parts were DJ'd in whereas the Antrhax stuff was original music for the song.

I'd love to see what Nas X can pull off with other collaborations though. This shows he has the ear to work with all kinds of music and put it together.

Keith Urban and other country artists are coming out with their own version of Old Town Road. The song was just an accident just for fun and sold alot on ITunes and many radio stations from all genres are playing the song in heavy rotation.
