From DBR:
"For UNC, getting back-to-back trouncings after looking like absolute world-beaters previously must have been startling. Their shockingly easy victory of Kansas was perhaps diminished when KU was also shocked by Florida and Oregon. And come to think of it, Kentucky hasn't exactly set the world on fire lately, either.
"How would you like to be Sean May (or Damion Grant or Byron Sanders) and read that your coach said this: "They have a couple of things we don't have. They have talented big guys who can score.''
"Pardon us for pointing this out, but isn't it the coach's job to a) find talented big guys and b) teach lesser talented big guys to be fundamentally sound? Doherty's had three years to deal with this. And come on - it's not like Sean May just sucks. He's big, he's talented. What gives? This is guaranteed to make your guys feel like crap and to resent you. Doherty appears to have learned some things, but not the most important thing, which is that the coach is always responsible. Always."

Nice job of the DBR twisting Doherty's words. By "big guys" Doherty is obviously talking about a center (and May isn't a true center). Grant is the only true center -- and no, he can't score for us right now.
Doherty is saying we are shorthanded underneath -- how is that a slam on any of our players?

The censoring morons at DBR are bandwagon fans with no connection to Duke University, and ridiculous hypocrites. No wonder, they're the official mouthpiece of Coach K and AD Alleva, with no integrity whatsoever. For this they get news of mens bball commitments a whopping one day before the press conferences, pathetic really. Former national coach of the year Doherty's been there 2 years not 3 and just won preseason NIT, and they jump all over him for one comment which may not even be controversial? Chump of the millennium Franks has been at Duke twice as long and whines constantly about how his team has no talent and can't do anything right, this after being the head coach for 4 years and claiming he's recruiting well! DBR loves Franks though with constant comparisons to K's early struggles, while admitting they know nothing about football and couldn't care less about the sport. DBR is only good for a laugh, and favors anything to make K more important to Duke as it's only successful revenue sport coach, and keep Franks and K's lackey Alleva at Duke. It's no coincidence Duke's radio announcer Bob Harris is the most biased homer in sports even according to Duke's own fans. K's well known for trying to censor and control Duke's student paper and Crazies/students as well as the national media, is there any doubt he's the reason Duke sites like thedevilsden, accboards, and DBR, are the most censored on the net?

The flaming moron at NCAAbbs is a bandwagon Boston College fan with no connection to Duke University, Durham, hell probably even the state of North Carolina and is a 28 year old still living with his parents, and only leaves his house to meet his boyfriend to discuss how they will "dethrone the Duke world".

Spin it any way you want to, this story was reported by AP first.

DBR was not twisting anything Doherty said. How would you feel if you were Sean May and the Coach made that remark? Since when is "big guys" a position on a Bball team? I guess Doherty has enough sense to play his big guys on their big guys?
The Coach needs to engage his brain before he speaks, he's only hurting himself and the team.

BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!!! They're already in damage control mode at Chapel Hill trying to downplay rumors that there's been a mutiny on the team.

"Smoke" has been caused by the anti-Doh factions -- both UNC and ABC alike. Funny that when you talk to the players on the issue, they practically fall all over themselves in defending Doherty.
I'm not usually a big fan of Greg Doyel's -- I actually think he's a tool that tries to tick off as many fans of opposing teams as possible. But, I think he's on target with this column (and not just because it's pro-Doh).
Your "mutiny" seems to have just been some people's wishful thinking.
