So, it appears that he missed two exams. What did he do? Sleep the whole day? Nobody went to wake him up? Nobody knew that he had finals exams? If this guy has been flakey like this in the past with missing team meetings and workouts, why is there not something in place with the athletic department making sure their players get to their classes, especially the ones that have a history of missing or being late to meetings and workouts.

I blame the FSU coaches and athletic department as much as Rix, but over the years it has been obvious that there is not much discipline in this program and it all starts at the top.

I wonder how a purest like Mark Richt made it through that program for as long as he did.

Oh yeah, the coaches are all going to run around to everyone's apts all over town and make sure the little boys go to school and take their exams. Just when is it that young men grow up and control their own destiny's...

The coaches are NOT to blame for this. If you still need someone to hold your hand to make sure you make it to class, then you don't belong in college... more like elementary school

The device is called a telephone. It's inventor was Alexander Graham Bell. It's most popular use is to communicate with people when it is not convenient to communicate with them in person. With all the past eligibility issues in FSU bowl games, the coaches should have something in place to make sure that their players make their exams. It really only is important once a semester.

Oh yes they most certainly are! There isn't and hasn't ever been much discipline on an FSU football team. Discipline starts at the top with the coaching staff. I give much of the credit to UGA's success this year to the discipline that Richt brought to our football team. This is the most disciplined football team I have seen at UGA since Dooley was coach.

Right on! Every once in a while, I agree with you MsNole. There is a laundry list of FSU players that obviously didn't belong in college because of your own eligibility rules. It should have started with Deion, but he was the trailblazer so the list of FSU players that have missed key bowl games for eligibility reasons reads like this: Running back Amp Lee missed the 1992 Cotton Bowl, tailback Rock Preston missed the national title 1997 Sugar Bowl against Florida and All-American wide receiver Marvin "Snoop'' Minnis was knocked out of the Oklahoma game for the 2001 national title matchup.
