Rivals100.com No. 8 rated defensive end Alex Boston has finally made a decision on a college. He had hoped to wait until signing day to announce his decision, but after a visit from Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden on Tuesday he couldn't hold it in any longer.

"I will be attending Florida State University," Boston told Warchant.com. "The most important thing is that it was close to home and the visit was real good last week."

Boston recently sustained a torn ACL during a soccer match and will spend the next six to eight months rehabbing his injured knee. Because that he will redshirt his first year at FSU but expects to be ready in time for baseball season in 2004. That's good news for Mike Martin since Boston is rated as the No. 72 high school prospect in the nation by TeamOneBaseball.com.

Boston selected FSU over Florida, Maryland and UConn.

In his senior season Boston had approximately 65 tackles and 12 sacks at Bartow. He is fully qualified.

Accolades:

* Second team all-state (3A)
* Rivals100.com 4-star recruit
* No. 8 rated weak-side defensive end - Rivals100.com
* No. 21 in the state of Florida

04-cheers
