After losing just two games so far -- and sitting atop the ACC through the first round of games -- one has to wonder if Wake is the best team in the ACC right now.
Looking at Wake's losses, they were both on the road at tough places to play (Cameron and U-Hall). Meanwhile, Wake has taken care of business quite nicely at home.
Maryland has two losses as well, but one was at home -- and one was on the road at Wake (although it was a close game).
State has played nicely at times, but I think they had a favorable schedule the first time through.
dook stumbled a little, but all their losses have been on the road.
Those appear to be the contenders so far. We'll see what happens during the second half.

I would like to think so, but I realize that Wake faces some very tough road games in the second half. I think Sunday's game @ Marquette should be a good indicator of how things might go...big game, tough competition, in their house.
We do get Dook & Carolina coming to the Joel, but the sheer emotion of that goes into these teams playing each other always makes these matchups hard to predict. Tech, MD, State on the road... If we could get 2 of 3, I'd be ecstatic...1 of 3 is probably more realistic.
That being said, I cannot recall the last time Wake has been first or tied for first in the conference at the halfway point. I'm very pleased with the way the team works together & doesn't fall apart if we fall behind. There is always someone who is ready & able to step up their game. And I am so happy we have Skip at the helm! :)

In my opinion Wake is playing as well as anybody in not only the ACC but the entire country.
