Notes
*FSU snapped Stanford's 22-game home series win streak, which dated back to April 16-18, 1999 (USC took two of three).
*Sunday's 12-inning win came in dramatic fashion as junior outfielder
Tony McQuade tied the game in the ninth with a three-run homer and
junior catcher Tony Richie had the game-winning RBI with a homer in the
12th.
*Senior reliever Daniel Hodges picked up a save in Saturday's win and
then got the victory on Sunday. He worked 4.0 innings Sunday and 1.1
innings Saturday without giving up a run. He now ranks second all-time
at FSU with 21 saves, fifth with 92 career appearances and tied for
third in career relief appearances (92).
*The Seminoles had lost five of their last six games to Stanford before
taking two of three over the weekend.
*FSU pitching staff finished with a 3.03 ERA in the three-game series at
Stanford and now has a 2.41 ERA on the season.
*Sophomore shortstop Stephen Drew did not start Saturday or Sunday
(stomach virus). He did pinch hit in Sunday's game and will be ready for
this weekend's games.
*Junior right fielder Blake Balkcom (.417, 5 RBI) missed the series
(inj. quad) and may sit out again this weekend.
