Quote:After Donald picked the Vols on Jan. 6, Milan's Keenan Bratcher committed last week to sign with Memphis, where he will be a deep-snapper.

Anyone with info on the kid?

Thanks for the info, but keep in mind that a deep-snapper doesn't need to be 300 lbs. Many aren't even close to that.

the deep snapper position is wide open. Tommy did well last time, pulling Clayton out of Hattiesburg to be, if I recall correctly, specifically the deep snapper.

Would this be a scholarship player or a guaranteed walk on player?

I know a good deep snapper is important, but do you spend a scholarship on an untested kid or bring him in as a walk-on first and them give him one once he proves himself?

Rusty Clayton was a scholarship deep snapper and over his four years not one bad snap. I think giving a scholarship once every 3-4 years for a quality deep snapper is wise.

I agree...this position is critical....besides we needed another player from Milan. ;-)

I can remember some critical botched snaps in UM history unfortunately.
