Sophomore Mike Stuntz has moved up to No. 2 quarterback for Nebraska.

Coach Frank Solich announced Tuesday that Stuntz had moved ahead of freshman Curt Dukes, who had been No. 2 after spring practice.

"I think Mike came on real strong as he came through the final phase of practices," Solich said.

Dukes has been slowed by a groin injury and abdominal strain, but has returned to practice. Solich said Dukes will dress for Saturday's season opener against Arizona State, but whether he'll play is uncertain.

Jammal Lord will start Saturday. A redshirt year is still possible for Dukes or Stuntz.

"It's nice, but the coaches told me right after they told us the depth chart that they weren't done evaluating us. Neither of us are going to let up," said Stuntz, who was 5-for-6 for 37 yards in a scrimmage last week.
