tonight. And Saban will be in his home tomorrow night. I have a question for anyone that knows. Are you guys still able to take partial qualifiers? If so, is there a limit on the number you can take? Just curious , as I have heard yes and no.

Yes we can. I don't think there is a CUSA limit but the President doesn't give them out easily. It is her call.

We usually sign one or two. Two has been the max as long as I can remember. Rod Davis would definitley be worth signing as a non qualifier.

My personal feeling is that if it seems the prospect has a legitimate chance of graduating, we should give them everytime. Considering our inherent disadvantages, we should capitalize on every opportunity we have to level the field.

The University does a good job of reviewing individual circumstances. They evaluate if appropraite additional support is available...can the student thrive. As long as the same logic is applied to athletes, I'm OK with it.

Does it always work? No.

I helped a kid go through the appeals process this past fall and he blew it. He simply did not attend classes and failed. Hurt my cred but I felt that it was worth a chance. What you can't predict is whether a kid will get/stay motivated to do the work.
