PF Derrick Favors is one of three star frontcourt prospects in the Class of 2009; PF Renardo Sidney, who is playing high-school ball in Los Angeles, and C DeMarcus Cousins of Erwin HS in Birmingham, are the other two.
Favors has been compared to Dwight Howard, so I have to assume he can get a few rebounds and really attack the basket. Here's one article on him. Leslie McDonald of Briarcrest is also mentioned by the writer:

Favors is currently playing at Atlanta South Atlanta HS, and plays AAU ball for the Atlanta Celtics, for whom he has really played well. Several analysts mentioned he might leave South Atlanta HS for another school (probably a prep school) the way Renardo Sidney left Jackson, Mississippi. That's the way the promotion of these players goes these days.
There are a lot of players in the class of 2009 that are already receiving a lot of hype--Sidney and Lance Stephenson being the two most prominent in that regard. Sidney appears likely to surpass O.J. Mayo in terms of overall hype and interest from the shoe companies. The way things are sitting with him right now, USC would appear to be in great position to get him for one year unless he decides to play some time of pro ball outside the NBA. Ben Howland is a strict disciplinarian and doesn't like dealing with entourages, so UCLA isn't likely unless something changes.
The fact that Memphis is mentioned as a viable choice for players like Favors and Stephenson just shows the kind of recruiting credibility Cal has built up with these young players. The Derrick Rose signing has only added to that.
Sidney is definitely the one getting the most press. He's playing high-school basketball for the Artesia HS Pioneers in Lakewood, CA (suburban Los Angeles). In a recent game, Artesia beat Cerritos HS 74-32. Sidney had 21 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks without even working up a sweat. He's just marking time until he plays on the same court with Kobe Bryant, who's playing a couple of miles away, if that.
