Coach Cal spotted at the Adidas Superstar Camp in Atlanta
One of the paragraphs on a story about the camp in today's Atlanta paper starts off as follows:
"Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo, who stood for much of Thursday's afternoon games next to Memphis coach John Calipari, said he looks for one play to remember. When he's allowed to speak with the recruit, he'll casually mention it, letting the kid know he was paying attention."
It sure seems like our coach gets noticed everywhere he goes.
Also a question: There is a picture of a game at the camp that's identified as "UCLA versus Memphis". How are the teams organized? Who would play for UCLA and who would play for Memphis?

At the shoe camps, they put players on teams named either for college teams or NBA teams depending on the camp. I don't think players are placed on teams (by name) based on who they may have committed to or might be interested in.

Did the players who were assigned to the Memphis team all of the sudden look like a deer in the headlights? ;-)
