Congrats on your first win of the year, you guys had a tough schedule to start the season, I've only seen UNC in action once this year, that was vs Wisconsin, your D played well early but seemed to wear down and your offense couldn't control the ball, ASU won its first game vs a quality team this year on Saturday by defeating the Oregon Ducks 59-17, hopefully it was a breakout game for ASU who finally played as expected and turned in its first complete performance of the season as offense, defense and special teams played well. I think Saturdays game will be exciting and competitive, I think ASU has a matchup advantage in that the Devils offense will spread the field and challenge the speed of UNCs defense and secondary. ASUs run game is starting to gel as well which could be a big facor. The Devils though, are 0-2 on the road this year and were beaten badly both times they lost 21-2 at Iowa (a good defensive showing but no offense by ASU) and 45-17 loss at Oregon State(a complete debacle). ASUs confidence will be high going into chapel hill. I think Durant will be the key for you guys, ASU was unable to contain him last year and he really torched the Devils on third down situations by both scrambling and throwing, ASU must stop Durant, they must pressure him and contain him from scrambling. ASU must also control the clock and move the chains en route to scoring!

Heres some statistical comparisons of the teams.

Thanks for the congrats, SD -- it feels good to finally get a W under our belt.

This team is struggling greatly this year, but we aren't as bad as our record indicates. I think we are rated as having the fourth toughest schedule in the nation right now -- we've already played FSU and UVa at home and Wisconsin and State on the road (two tough places to play).

Unfortunately, we have (once again) played better on the road than at home this year. I was hoping the Syracuse game was going to get that monkey off our back, but we somehow found a way to lose that game.

I see this being a hard-fought game, but I just don't think we have the D to come out on top. I'd like to be proven wrong, but I just remember Walter being unstoppable last year. I don't know who your RB is this year, but even an average RB can have a field day against us.

For some reason or another, Durant isn't playing as well this year as he did last year. I think maybe the injury has made him a bit more tentative or thrown his rhythm off or something. He's not making as many devastating mistakes like fumbles, interceptions, etc. -- but I don't think his throws are as on target as they were.

Anyway, I'm hopeful that all facets of our team will show up on Saturday, because we're gonna need a strong game to beat y'all again. I'd imagine your team is hungry and very determined to get some payback for last year. I hope we can somehow keep that from happening....

Here's to a great game!

We will have to outslug ASU again this year. No way we can stop that passing offense.

UNC still wins this one 44-38. :chair:

I can't remember his name but one of your WRs gave the Devils secondary fits last season as well, I think he may have been a SR. but I cannot remember his name. I think it will also be a high scoring game, particularly in the second half.

Agreed on the scoring idea. Our offense is the only thing that keep us in the game.
