The PING Arizona Intercollegiate opens today in Tucson. Wake Forest is the only team in the 15 team field from east of the Mississippi and 10 of the 15 teams are ranked in the top 50 nationally. Wake is currently ranked 16th and senior Bill Haas leads the Deacons, as the nation's top-ranked player according to GolfWeek/Sagarin.

Kudos to Bill and the Deacs as they begin what should be another shining season for the Deacon golfers!

Wake finished the tourney in 5th place at even par behind some excellent competition (Arizona, New Mexico, Arizona State & Southern Cal). Bill Haas and Kyle Reifers both finished in the top 10 in individual competition (Haas tied for 3rd and Reifers in 6th).

Looks like Wake is off to a good start. It would be awesome if Wake could end up with another national title to end Bill's senior year in a big way!
