If we are to win this game, we need the fans to never stop and our offense to be there from the beginning. We absolutely need to hit three's and play really tight defense. The thing that worries me the most is our rebounding. If we control the boards we will control the game.

Any thoughts?

ps. JG goes for 20

As silly as it sounds Luke Schenscher was the one who really killed us last time we played them. We absolutely must keep him off the boards, perhap send Fofana in there to beat him up a little and we must go after him with the guards, take it right to him and get him in foul trouble. He is they key to their team against us. We cant let him beat us like he did last time. Get him in foul trouble early and we win, its that simple.

I don't know about that. I am not questioning his play at all...to the contrary I think he is quite good. He also rarely ever puts the ball on the floor for those easy guard picks. I am sure that Fofana will be fouling out in a hurry against him. I just see Tech's 3 guard play hard to defend even considering how good our defense is. If we shut them down and get in the guards heads, we will win. To take Luke out of the game, we need to muscle him off the offensive boards. If we can control our side, players like NCM and Ebekwe can easily fly in for those unbelievable follow-ups. Should be good either way. Thanks for the input.

I dont think Fofana has fouled out in a single game this year. Why would he do it against Luke?

Because I really think he might play more than 10-15 minutes this game. Have you seen how quickly he picks up fouls? Freshman with big feet have real issues staying out of fould trouble. Have you heard that kid? He sounds like an international Barry White.

I don't see Maryland being able to eliminate Schenscher from the picture. If you start to harass him, we can bring in Tarver or Muhammad, both of which feel right at home under the basket. Well, I guess Muhammad feels at home FLYING OVER the basket, but that's another story.

Sell out the low post for boards? Open up our Fearsome guard Foursome. Sell on the perimeter? Luuuuuuuke (or Tarver/Muhammad)

Perhaps you are right and maybe we'll see tonight. Don't forget about Jamar, Ebekwe (who put on a high flying highlight reel against UNC) and NCM. Luke is going to get his boards, there is no denying it. If we can make him take his shots from outside the lines though, he is really ineffective. Tech's guards are great and so is our defense. It should be a good match up. I can tell you one thing though, there will be a lot of fouls and UMD will focus on making every shot Tech takes as hard as possible. UMD owns the second best defensive field goal percentage in the conference. Don't think for a minute you are going to shoot lights out.

Luke did have the biggest bucket of the game to go along with 10 boards. I would hardly say he was a non-factor he held Smith to a pitiful 1-12 shooting performance.

I don't know about that...I would say Smith held himself to poor shooting as much as Luke did. He missed so many layups I almost puked. He also had 11 boards.

Luke is one of the most underrated players in the league. He stayed in Atlanta all off-season (instead of going back to Aussie land) to work on him conditioning, weight, game, and footwork. It payed off.

I agree. He is really surprising people all over the ACC. He needs a little more speed though. HE does his job well though. Standing straight up and pulling rebounds seems to be needed in the ACC these days. He will get eaten alive in the pros, but his NCAA career looks bright.
