EJ Wynn (St. Johns College HS, Washington, DC) - WR - 5-9, 165 - recruited heavily by UConn, Marshall & Boston College

Ben Wooster (Greater Atlanta Christian HS, GA) - TE - 6-5, 215 with a 4.6 in the 40 - turned down offer from Louisville & was recruited heavily by Stanford, Vanderbilt and Army

Add one more! The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that the #2 QB in Florida has given a verbal to Wake:

I will say that Wake got a good QB but there are a few other QB prospects in the state of Florida that I would like to mention.

Wayne Campbell, Jonathan Garner, Chris Alexander and Michael Greco.
I have no idea how the SLANTinel decides on breaking down players by position but those 4 QBs would be at the top of anyones recruit list.

Last thing, I don't like it when players start to "commit" in the month of July, there is still 7 months left until they sign their LOI, anything can happen.
The University of Florida just received commits from 4 of the top players in the country and 1 of them has decided against commiting so early, he said he likes Florida but he wants to be sure if that's the right decision

Hey if Grobe can get the players now, then good for him but commits in July don't hold much weight in my opinion.

Well since the football season is right around the corner I will be around a little more often.

I see that Wake Forest has made some upgrades around their football program.
Someone had pictures of Wakes new football fields for both the practice and regular game fields, looked good.
It seems all teams in the ACC are moving up with their facilities which of course is always a good thing.

Another commit from the Sunshine State:

Kevin Harris (Seminole HS, Sanford, FL) - RB - 6-2, 225 with a 4.48 in the 40 - turned down offers from Miami (FL) and Alabama

Had a top 25 ranking coming out of this summer's Nike camps. Way to go, Coach Grobe & Company!!

Harris also turned down offers from Maryland, Central Florida, South Florida, Marshall & Furman.

Jonathan Jones (Sequoyah HS, Madisonville, TN) - WR - 6-4, 180 with a 4.5 in the 40

From Jones' coach: "He's got great speed for his size,'' Kerley said. "He ran a 4.5 at Wake Forest in the summer. He's just a real coachable kid.

"We had people call about him, but we've already told them he's going to Wake Forest. Auburn wanted him to come down. Tennessee wanted him to go to their camp, too. He was supposed to go to Vanderbilt on the same day, and they said, 'If he doesn't come, then maybe bring him up another day.'

"He went to Wake Forest and that's where he wanted to go. So we finished pretty quick this summer.''

This is something that Coach Grobe and Wake Forest has to get better at. If we are going to be competitive in the ACC we cannot be last or second to last like we have the past couple of years.

Recruiting is going very well. What's your story, anyway? A while back you were wondering if we were going to get more than 10,000 in attendance per game this year. Have you been to a game lately? We got almost 30,000 a game last year. It looks to be even better this year.
