I don't know how much of a surprise Wake Forest will be considering all of the ACC coaches are well aware of the talent that Jim Grobe has amassed in Winston-Salem. But I think the Deacs have the potential to finish higher than 9th in the conference...perhaps as high as 7th. I think that might surprise some folks, especially if teams like Virginia Tech or Georgia Tech or NC State or Maryland finished below them.

I agree, Lucy. Wake sure made a believer out of me when they killed us in Winston-Salem. However, they went on to lose the rest of the games on their schedule and only finished with 6 wins.

I think Tech will shock some people...probably in a good way for 4 games(last year it was vs. Auburn, UMD, and FSU) and in a bad way for 3 games(last year it was vs. Clemson, Duke, and BYU)

So you never really know 03-wink

I do agree that Tech will surprise some folks. Ball can only get better with experience. What do you guys have in the way of skill guys and OL returning?

OL - 3 guards(did a rotation last year), one will play center and a very experienced tackle.

Skill guys as in athletes?

RB - P.J. Daniels-Jr. (lead ACC in rushing), Rashuan Grant- R-Fr.(ranked #1 All Purpose back his senior year by Rivals
WR - Nate Curry - Sr. Had a great Freshman year but got injured, Levon Thomas - Sr. Runs BACKWARDS AND NOT FORWARDS :bang: , and Freshman Calvin Johnson
DL - Everyone back(Henderson, Anoai, Parker, Wrotto) - one of our strongest points
LB - Wilkerson - our weakest points
DB - Butler, Houston, Scott, and Landry(VERY GOOD) - probably best in ACC

I would argue Clemson has the best secondary in the ACC ... at least top 2.

GT certainly has the potential for a surprise year if certain pieces fall into place.

With college FB these days, who knows? I'm as scared as ever for my Tigers.

I take Tech's DB's over Clemsons ANYDAY, but thats just me 03-wink

James Butler - Thorpe Award Watch List, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team(different sources) Pre-season All America.
Rueben Houston - 2 year starter.
Dawan Landry - Had breakout year last year. Him and Butler make a nice pair of safetys.
Kenny Scott - returned kicks last year, one of fastest guys on the team.

We'll have to agree to disagree ... Justin Miller is a 1st round pick this year at DB. Mr. Everything (he'll return kicks again this season).

Opposite of him is Tye Hill, the 2nd fastest player in the country (shut down Thorpe from FSU last year).

CJ Gaddis backs them up at DB and is the best athlete on the Clemson team, believe it or not.

Fudge and Pugh at safety are as good as they come.

I know many publications and websites have our secondary in the top 5 in the nation. It's all talk right now, however.

I think it will be fun to watch our secondary.

However, I will say that the play of our DL and LB will greatly affect our secondary production.

Ask any Clemson fan and they'll tell you ...

Our two biggest concerns are OT and DT.
