Quaterback Pierre Beasley, a 6-3 220 lb spread QB out of the Dallas area, and Toddrick Pendland, a scatback also out of Texas?

Yes, both are moderately ranked athletes (2 stars according to Rivals, and 1 star according to Insider) that the Tigers are in on from Texas.

Pendland is only about 165, but quick, according to scouting reports. Beasley looks like a physical specimen. Don't know if he can play though. He ranks behind the other QB's we're scouting (D. Harris, M. Malouf, and C. Smelley). If we can land one of those three I'd be happy, but odds are we'll just end up with a Beasley. Harris is looking at Kentucky, and Smelley is probably going the SEC route. I think our best shot is with Malouf.

My guess is that other schools want Beasley to switch positions, but if the U of M promised him he'd have a chance at QB he'd sign on the spot.

I agree with your assessment about our QB prospects. I'd say we've got a 50/50 shot at Malouf...honestly, it probably helps our chances that he lives in Oxford and has seen first hand what's going on down there. Probably comes down to how bad he wants to play QB.

thanks, from what I read, Beasley is currently running the same spread offense that Memphis runs and is putting up some numbers. He is listed in the top 25 QBs in Texas, which is pretty impressive, as they (TX) have sent over thirty QB's to D1 schools each of the last few years.

Just from the general area where I live QBs are signing with Florida State, Florida, Texas, Texas Tech (2), Ole Miss, Tulane (?), LSU and Miami.

Beasley is an honor student, and also is being recruited by USC, Texas and Oklahoma in football AND North Carolina, Arizona and Oklahoma State in basketball.
