I believe this is a big game for both teams. They are sitting at 3-2 overall and Tech is 1-1 in the conference while Wake is 0-2 in conference play. Whoever loses this game could possibly have to watch out for not getting a bowl bid. These two teams are playing in the toughest conference in college football. Both teams must show up and play with heart. I believe both teams will come out ready for this game and it will go down to the wire. I am thinking VT 24 Wake 21 on a game winning FG to decide this matchup.

This is surely a big game, but I will take it one step further. The loser of this game will be home this bowl season. That said, while I think Wake is good and smart, VT has a good deal more talent that Wake. Wake hangs in for 3 quarters before VT scores a touchdown to widen the gap.
VT 23
WF 10
If VT doesn't show up though, Wake will take this game.

Both of Wake's conference losses were in OT, so we were very close to being 2-0 in conference right now. :(
That being said, I think we stand a chance to win on Saturday. We're at home, the crowd is going to be into this game, and we're talking possibly the largest crowd ever in Groves Stadium. We're even setting up temporary bleachers for the band & Screamin' Demons to free up more space for regular student seating.
My prediction:
Wake 24
VT 21
Matt Wisnosky nails a FG at the end of the game so we don't have to go to OT...
Good luck to both teams & here's hoping for an injury-free game on a beautiful autumn afternoon!

Heck of a game though I don't think it should have ever been as close as it was. VT won the battle in the trenches and fumbled twice inside the 30, once inside the 1. Regardless, Wake has a lot of heart and they should win a game this year that the experts say they shouldn't.

Oh well, Wisnosky got injured on the opening kickoff, so he couldn't be the FG savior. :frown:
This game was tough on the heart...so close, yet so far, due to what I feel were some bad playcalls by our coaching staff, including relying on a QB that shouldn't have been in at the end.
Congrats to the Hokies for fighting to the end for the win.

I think the Hokies are finding out there are zero freebies in this conference.
UNC picked off NC State and GT ( :crying: ) this year.
Dook picked off GT ( :crying: ) last year.
