I'll save you some time. Not much outside of an entirely Italian restaurant and some place that tries to be chic by serving blue drinks. I think I'd hang myself having to live there.
I'll save you some time. The City Grocery has been hailed for years by Bon Appetit and countless other national media as a fantastic restaurant.

Other great places to eat, both fine dining and casual: 208 South Lamar, Ajax Diner, Proud Larrys, Yocona River Inn, Old Venice Pizza Co. (must be the Italian restaurant).

The better entirely Italian restaurant is L&M, which is mainly Northern Italian and not a lot of red sauces. I doubt Memphis even has something as good. That's where a lot of the doctors and other professionals go who have migrated from crime-infested Memphis to Oxford. That's also where you can find me on game weekends with a group of Memphians who are Ole Miss alums.

I'm not sure why I came to this board. It makes me feel guilty, like I'm poking retarded people in the eyes.

It's almost no fun insulting you when you don't even get it.

You can really tell this guy is educated. Tell your mother it is time to turn her computer off. I imagine the reason John Grisham moved to the east was that he was tired of looking out the windows of his nice house and seeing double-wides.

Applebee's, Applebee's, and Olive Garden. "Very few red sauces...I doubt Memphis has such a place." Get a life and a clue. You have 5 halfway decent Applebee/Olive Garden knockoffs to choose from and a reefer field to get you in the mood. Poking retarded people in the eyes? Please. You're a moron.

So Memphis is the hood huh?

Much rather live in the hood, than live in Mississippi and always having to look over my shoulder to make sure nobody is going to try to make me squeal like a pig.

What you apparently don't realize is that Grisham is a Miss. State alum who knowingly built his house about two hundred yards from a car dealership, right on the highway, to show it off like a true Miss. State person. Then he whined when a mobile home dealer set up a lot right next to him as development moved out further on the highway.

Good riddance. His books and movies suck.

This is Faulkner town.

He didn't just go there did he? I guess memphis has no resteraunts that have been named in any national publications or hailed as a "fantastic resteraunt".

Hey EtolonelColonel - there's two kinds of Stupid in this World, and I'm pretty sure you're both of them. So, if the company is not to your liking, maybe you can take that microcephalic thing growing on your shoulders and point it south -

colonel,

I am sure you are an important person because you know a guy whose uncle's grandparents were big MS landowners, but to the rest of the world you are nothing.

I doubt that you even a missippi grad. If you are, you are an embarrasment to the entire school.

To those who responded to this child:

Do you know anything?

Oxford is a world famous city!!!!!

What's embarrassing about having fans who dress in their school's colors and paint their face at a bowl game? I'd be embarrassed NOT to have those fans.
What is embarrassing is having fans stupid enough to walk through Tobey Field before a Tiger/Reb game singing Hotty Toddy. Ask TigerTwice what happens to stupid people like that. 03-nutkick

Hey I said ALL schools have them. But you gotta admit that scrawny little geek is kind of embarrassing to the school. Granted, not as embarrassing as Bubba & Lulu though.

1. People of class in Memphis send their kids to Ole Miss, UT or Bama. Memphis State is for kids with scrubby goatees who go to 616 or some other place that is a "club" rather than a "bar."

2. People of class in Memphis went to Ole Miss, UT or Bama, not Memphis State.

3. Despite your myths, it's not 1962. We're not racists. The fact that you all wear hip-hop gear, gold chains and moon-boot basketball shoes does not make you any more "enlightened" than we are.

4. Make no mistake about it: You are rednecks. We simply are not.

5. Despite your ignorant statements about Oxford, everyone in the nation except you knows it's one of the best towns in America to live in. I like Memphis and go there often, but MSU is a stone DUMP. I have been to MSU and been on your campus and in your buildings. It flatly sucks.

Here's the sad truth, sylvester...

Your smack is weak. A low class, snot-nosed dweeb who doesn't have his degree (that is, IF you even have your GED) has no room to look down his nose at anyone: news flash, you can't get any lower.

You want to talk trash about the team, fine. But personally, I draw the line when you talk about Memphis. You don't know anything about the community, or the people, its socioeconomics or its culture, so back off.

Oh, and one more thing. You say that the racist label is based on "myth". Well, that's funny, look at your own words:
Quote:3. Despite your myths, it's not 1962. We're not racists. The fact that you all wear hip-hop gear, gold chains and moon-boot basketball shoes does not make you any more "enlightened" than we are.

My buddies on the BAMA board, RollTideFan.net, the SEC board, SaturdayTailgate, and even the hicks on Gridscape have asked me to officially request that you and your pathetic school stop trying to ride their coattails and get a life, a program worthy of mention, and quit making the entire SEC look foolish. :stupid:

Ole Miss alum Fred Smith sends his regards and hopes you enjoy the fantastic FedEx Forum in which he allows your basketball team, the only thing you have going for you, to play.

He says he hopes it, along with the Grizzlies, will help further revitalize downtown Memphis into being a place where people other than recklessly driving morons (two Ole Miss players among them) and German Elvis fanatics will spend time and money.

You really HAVE never been up here have you?

Dammit man, trade in that John Deere on a nice new pick-up and head up this way sometime.

Hell you might as well, afterall most of your students are from here anyway.
Wait, we're all rednecks though....right?

I just had this in my Logic Class yesterday....
Let's see...

All Memphians are rednecks.
Most Ole Myth students are FROM Memphis.

SO....Most Ole Myth students/alumni are rednecks...the rest are just trailer trash.
