Just for the baseball fanatics
ETSU is 9-3 and has thrown back to back shutouts for the first time in YEARS.
We're coming.

Wouldn't go that far, 400 people go to baseball, 4000 to basketball. I'm not sure I remember our last conference championship in baseball, or if I was even alive.
Regardless of the egg we laid down today, it's still a banner year. Our students are ready to vote yes on football, and the money is coming in privately as well.
BTW, I heard Derek Waugh got married?

Waugh was married years ago...
I don't think attendance has anything to do with the quality of the team on the field. Incidentally, I can't remember when our avg. attendance at baseball was only 800. Also, baseball's profits cover the losses on all our men's sports. The revenues nto only come from 1000+ attendance, but revenue sharing from the NCAA tourney.

Once again, congrats on a solid year and good luck in the NIT.

VolLover thinks he can convince the Floridians this is a basketball conference.

That's funny.

Stetson has been averaging about 2200 this year it seems. I consistently see you guys with 2000-2600 fans.

And ETSU is definitely having a good start to baseball. This should be a fun season.

Eh, it's just two different schools with different priorities. That's what this whole conference is. It seems the Tennessee/NC schools want success in basketball the most, while the current Florida teams are hell bent on baseball.
Of course given that we're spending more than everyone else in the conference on athletics, it kind of helps us out with sports like baseball.
I'm just glad to see them winning. Coach Skole is a great coach, and you guys may actually remember him for being I believe on the Citadel team that beat Miami back in the day.

My question is what will Florida Gulf Coast really push? I'm thinking they'll go after basketball pretty hard, but I also believe they see what's gone on at FAU and FIU, and want some of that football money, and will try to build hard and fast.
I'll tell ya what else has me curious for next year... With their being 12 teams in the A-Sun next year, three in the Caroinas, Three in Tennessee, the two Georgia's and four Florida schools, will they split into divisional play in certain, if not all sports? I mean granted, it would SUCK IMOO if Belmont, Lipscomb, ETSU, and Gardner Webb all had to play in the same division in basketball, just as you would feel that it would suck if Stetson, JU, Mercer, and UNF were playing in the same baseball division. That should be something interesting to watch in the next few months.

Good point buc lover. I was all excited about the possible basketball divisions being in Mercer's favor.... and then the baseball idea came out. The thing about baseball though is you only travel to half of the teams anyways. So division in baseball might be meaningless.
