Great Game
Great game Mercer Fans; it could have went either way. I really like Alacqua. He's a weapon. It seems like Florence is a fantastic player for being a freshman.

Technical foul was bunk. I've never seen anything like that.

You guys seem improved this year despite losing such key players. Do you agree with that and what's been the difference??

I agree 100% We lost Andrew Brown who was not replaceable. We gained size down low and that has been key. We couldn't win a rebounding match at all last year. Rebounding + promising freshmen is the key. No one could run the point last year either. Florence helps out there 10 fold.

A technical foul for shirt tales being out is basically what the tec was for. i think coach slonaker said something to the commissioner and that is what got him the tec. that was pretty bad, especially in a conference game. save that ticky tacky stuff for OOC games. any time in this game was a bad time for a tech. that really hurt the mercer momentum. was a fantastic game though. i'm going to post more of my thoughts on the etsu board to get more response and to maybe fire them up a little.

But for our team, much much better. slonaker is known for recruiting and he got a steal in florence. he will be one of the top 3 pg's in the league the rest of his career. alacqua is a zone killer. and he gets the crowd going b/c he looks like the rest of us. he is like 5'8. he would be the last guy you would ever pick out to be a college basketball player. and inside we are much deeper, yet i think its our weakest part of the team. the last two big guys w/ knuckles and the guy from georgia southern both went for monster games. Two tough, close losses in a row, but it is an extremely fun team to watch and the winning is going to start very soon. 2nd time around conference we are going to be really tough.

great game against us 2. we suck right now, you can tell the frosh arent used to the system and look a bit gun shy, ingle is playing like crap and were making shaq look like brent barry when we shoot freethrows. though i'm not worried, cuz i can see the talent there, and i know what its capable of. first year were eligible, were winning the conference. this year we'll finish anywhere between 4th-7th.

I agree with Ingle. That dude is holding the ball way too much. He needs to pass more and get the ball to Wooten, Morgan, or Ragsdale as much as possible.

the thing about ingle is, he's not consistant. the one thing he does do well though, is he can bring the ball up the court and he has excellent ball handling skills. our backup zach berry, doesnt posess that skill and he could easily get stripped of the ball. so thats the main problem. the other thing is, we dont do the small things. we cant make freethrows, and we still cant rebound, which they have no excuse this year. they arent that small anymore. i mean their not big by any stretch, but they are big enough to get the rebounds.

its going to be a frustrating year, cuz they have as much talent as anyone and all the games will be close, but i do feel were gonna split the games and go around 500 in the conference.
