Division I-AA
I don't like the way I-AA teams celebrate every saving grace of a victory over a I-A school in any sport. To lose is expected then when the unexpected happens it is glorious.

Aspire to be great and excel in what you do. Compete at the highest level and prove yourself. That's the only way to grow a program to be the school to beat.

I'm tired of settling for mediocracy in college sports. Find the talent and do what you can through scheduling and training. Get the right coaches for the university or college and perform to excede expectations on a regular basis.

I think if a 1-AA beats a 1-A, especially a BCS conference team than the celebration is justified. The real difference between the two divisions is the number of scholorships. If I remember correctly, 1-A has 80 and 1-AA has 65. Depth is huge in these games. Go back and watch GSU vs UGA in 2004. That game was close in the first half but the extra scholorships really kicked in in the second half. Montana State beating Colorado and Richmond handing Duke their arses is worth the celebration because in reality, it shouldn't happen. Especially to BCS teams.

I think they should celebrate. There is a definite advantage for the I-A teams with atleast 15 more scholarships. Its definitely more impressive for a I-AA team to beat a I-A school, than a low major beating an ACC school or something because in basketball everyone has the same amout of scholarships. Congrats Richmond and Montana State.

u know..i agree with nick. i mean good for montana state for beating a good 1A team, but u should always have a mindset where u can beat anybody, no matter who it is. u should always have you're goals high and not roll over to some big name school just cuz their a more known school.

as for richmond beating duke.....duke doesnt count, they might as well be division 2 for football.

I understand talent. I know it's in high demand and low supply (at the highest level). That's why NBA players and the like get so much money. Football aside with the scholarship differences, shouldn't schools be able to compete on any level? I know every once in a while a Cinderella story comes out of the March Madness (George Mason) but I don't see it happening as much as I would expect.

I also understand that every Athletic Department is trying its best it can. I'm proposing that some schools own up to their performance and put themselves in a better position to contend. If resources are constrained, be entrepreneurial and find more of what you need. If talent is an issue, research how the best in sports have done it all these years. If a program is in it's hundreth year of losing records, rehaul the thing, breath new life into it.

I agree Nick! If they beat Miami that would be a different story. But celebrating for beating Duke!! hahahahahah that is about the funniest thing I have ever heard. Beating Duke is like beating VMI. Duke hasn't been good since Saint Steve was there when they pulled off the unthinkable and beat UT!!! Seriously theough Duke has to be one of the worst teams in 1-A beating them is not a milestone, it just isn't.
