ETSU FANS
With all respect ... ETSU has never been Ohio State, Georgia, or any other huge school.... After reading many cry baby posts from you guys ... I have reason to believe you thought this... and for those who have been bashing the transfer D-2 schools (Kevwhat?) you cant be serious... they are on their way up .... and just like you said... you are on your "down" after leaving the "SEC" lol.... so why are we opening our mouths? point made. Maybe if everyone at ETSU would stop crying and work with what they have now... they could pull out of their horrible streak. Its not our problem your athletic dept. sucks at what they do. So im sick of hearing about... just talk about whats going on in our conf and stop crying!

kr, most of us ETSU fans intend no disrespect when talking about the Atlantic Sun. There are those Buc fans--without question--who are extremely condescending towards our new league. And for that, If I were an Asun fan, I would be pissed too.
However, you have to understand our path to this point in time to understand our perspective. It's a complex situation and a lengthy story, but I'll try to condense it so that you and other ASUN fans understand our frustration. Simply put, our football team was eliminated in 2003 causing a series of events and creating outrage, disappointment, and frustration among alumni, fans, and community members. At the same time, our basketball team was showing extreme promise garnering national attention (received votes from the AP for the top 25), back to back NCAA tournament appeances and narrow losses in the first round (lost by a total of 6 points to Cincinnati and Wake Forest) and 4 consecutive North Division Socon titles.
The athletic dept. declared that the elimination of football would advance our premier sport--basketball. Two years later, however, it seems to be faultering. Thus our frustration.
There's a lot more to this, and it's not an excuse for denigrading this league, but it is an explanation of the feeling of most Bucfans.
Hopes this clears some up some of the misunderstanding.

Yeah I tell ya kr, youre right. We suck. Oh wait, we are about to win the mens all sports race trophy and we dont even have mens soccer. I think its pretty funny that we are complaining of a down year and are about to win the mens all sports trophy. Says alot about what we expect and how weak this league has been.

Add to that golf and tennis choked in their tournaments on the men's side, and basketball was mediocre.
No offense to the fans of the other programs, but ETSU fans are not used to being looked at in such a weak way, no matter how the papers or the conference tries to spin it.

All I know is that we need to be in a conference where the opening line in a Smack Talk thread isn't "With all due respect."

Statements of bias and fan loyalties aside, an interesting arguement would be if the Bucs or the Steelers win more games this year.

With the Steelers you have to figure they are going to be in the ballpark of 11 wins.

I would think the Bucs could beat that, but it's not a certainty.

Well the Bucs won't be anything special this year but I do say they win more than the Steelers.
