32 turnovers? Not good, we are lucky it was not worse! We still have trouble defending the 3. This has been a problem since Bartow has been at ETSU. The backside man is always open for an easy 3. And one more thing why can we not shoot Free Throws?

Sneed can't shoot FT's rest of the team isn't the bad. the problem is he is the guy getting fouled the most because he takes it to the hole.
UT game
ETSU 12-25 48%.. Bad
Sneed 3-11 27%... Really Really Awful
Rest of team 9-14 64% not that good but I think most of the guys can shoot okay.

My random observations: :bang:
1. Once again this year ETSU is running the motionless offense.
2. Santa, please bring a perimeter defense for Christmas.
3. The feud between Bartow and Smith is impacting Smith's game for the worse.
4. No possible way that Nuckles is healthy, or if he is someone is playing mind games with him.
5. Pegram and Williams can shoot.
6. Sneed is a man among boys.

Nuckles is healthy, he just has lost his confidence.

I Tivo'd the game but not sure I want to watch it. Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. Why can't we defend the 3? Did we ever try man-to-man rather than zone...I don't remember seeing m2m? Should have gone inside to Dillion more. I'd have them (mainly Sneed) shooting foul shots the rest of the weekend. I still think we are better than what we showed. UT was a tough opening game, they are a very good team and will make some noise. We need Reed and Swader healthy soon.

That's what I meant by "mind games". Also remember that I said he wasn't a young man that could be motivated by screaming in his face.

If it wasn't for Tim we would have lost by 40.

Agree, but it is obvious that there is a feud. Sitting Smith for a brief time in the first half was appropriate giving him a chance to see the game from a distance. Benching him for a game, then nearly 10 minutes of the second game is revenge.

According to the box score he sat for 6 minutes. Same for Rhoda. That was the most minutes for anyone on either team. Even Watson and Lofton for UT sat for 9 minutes each. Last year we didn't have the extra bodies to sub for Smith, hence his near 40 minutes per games. So unless those box score minutes are incorrect, I see nothing that indicates a "feud". I also sat near the bench and saw nothing that looked as if there were problems (other than what was happening on the court). Hell the guy needs some rest sometime and we needed to see how the new guys could do in a big time environment.
You also keep referring to Nuckles as not being able to be motivated by "screaming" in his face. I assume you are saying Bartow gets in Brad's face occassionally? If that is true and Brad can't take it, then maybe he ought to back his bags and go back home to VA and to mommy. This ain't AYSO. I think from now on I may add as my signture a quote from Geroge Carlin...."The pussification of America is killing us."

I don't find abusive behavior to be acceptable, nor do a lot of folks. I guess we will just agree to disagree on that.

If you are a player, you had better be able to take verbal abuse from your coach. Have you ever had a coach that every time you messed up, told you it was OK and to try harder next time? I know I haven't.
