I think a few asun teams will move up in the rankings. ETSU, Belmont, and GW will definitely be higher than they are, and I cant imagine campbell remaining that low.

I'd be willing to bet Kennesaw and UNF won't be the last two teams in the nation either.

After all, there's always Savannah State!

I can't believe Lipscomb is behind Stetson. but it's only preseason stuff. Can't wait for this season to start already!

Also of interest:

The Ken Pomeroy ratings with projected records. The preseason numbers are weighted were 50% of last years results affect this years projections, 33% from the year before that and 33% from the year before that.

Team Overall Conference
ETSU 19-8 15-5
Belmont 17-10 14-6
Mercer 16-10 13-7
GWU 13-14 12-8
FAU 13-13 11-9
JU 11-16 10-10
Campbell 6-20 6-14
KSU 7-19 5-15
UNF 8-18 5-15

Honestly, I think we can throw this whole thing out fo the window. Campbell will be better then that, I think they could suprise some folks. ETSU certainly gets the statistical benefit from competing in a higher rated conference. GWU's poor performance from 2002 to 2004 is probably weighing thier projected performance down. This formula/projections should be more accurate after the first conference games in December, then more concrete after the Christsmas break. I'd be interested in knowing how KSU and UNF were accounted for seeing that this is their first year in D-1.

As said above we really don't need to take these too seriously. I doubt the writers know much about A-Sun basketball anyways, all of these projections are pretty standard issue. Almost computerized from last years stats.

Mark Your Calendars!!!!

Dec 12. UNF Arena. Savannah State at UNF. The Battle for #333!!!

Will actually be televised on Comcast Cable.

Anybody play any pre-season games yet. JU hosted NAIA Div 2 Flagler College on Saturday afternoon. They gave up 89 points but scored 100. Flagler is usually pretty good but were playing with a bunch of newcomers so I'm not so sure JU should be satisfied by that victory. I think JU's experienced backcourt will keep them in games this year, but they are hurting up front without Q. JU opens at the Jacksonville Arena downtown against Florida State which should be fun.
