After doing so well in the Slam Dunk contest, it was reported that MTV called Mercer to get in touch with Duke. So you might be seeing him on TRL or something soon.

He certainly represented the A-sun well in the dunk contest. The dunks were awesome and he really won over the crowd. But once again flash beat power in the dunk contest.

He was awesome in the dunk contest, but he didnt act that flashy while getting whooped by UCF in orlando (and nashville) this year. All trash talk aside, that guy is HUGE. Its a testament to how built you look when the ucf student section starts chanting "balco" after duke makes a play. Keep us updated on when he will be on MTV.

Nice banners - I didnt' know Mercer had made it that far in the NCAA tourney in the past - there are no dates on the banners - when was that?

The dates are at the top of each banner. Both NCAA appearances were just first round games, but both single-digit losses... I can't wait til we get another shot.

I'm trying to understand the 2003 mens basketball banner. Were you co-regular season champions with Troy? I remember TSU being the 1 seed.

Also it's interesting that your banners from the 80s and early 90s have A-Sun logos instead of TAAC.

In 2003 we were the #1 seed, Troy was the #2 seed.
We were co-winners, yes.

I think they made new banners for the new arena, thats why they have A-Sun logos.

Yep.... notice it says "Tournament Champions" on the two when we won the tourney... if it just says Champions, assume it's for the regular season.
