Good luck against the Paladins. In this crazy year of upsets anything is possible. Obviously, it'd be great for the league.

]Furman’s offense: What a rush
From the State Columbia SC

Paladins have run for 702 yards in consecutive victories to get rolling again

By PATRICK OBLEY

Staff Writer

Two games removed from their only loss, the Furman Paladins appear to be hitting their stride on offense.

A season-low 88 yards rushing in a 41-21 loss at Western Carolina sent Furman back to its running roots. After 390 yards rushing against Samford, the Paladins rolled up 312 in a 44-41, double-overtime victory against Hofstra. Jerome Felton became the first Paladins fullback in 16 years to record consecutive 100-yard rushing games.

The Hofstra victory was doubly important for the Paladins because it proved they could defeat an Atlantic 10 opponent. Last year’s playoff run was ended by a 14-13 loss to A-10 foe James Madison. At 3-1 entering Saturday’s game against Gardner-Webb, the Paladins are ranked No. 7 and find themselves in good shape regarding the playoff picture despite the setback at Western Carolina.

“I think what we’ve done is the basis of a championship team,

I am not one for the ol moral victory. And I could tell by the expression on all of the players that they don't either. With that being said those kids (young men actually) had every reason to mail it in after a really bad 1st quarter. They did not give up they made the game a little uncomfortable for Furman's who stuck around after they thought the game was well at hand. If any of the players ever get a chance to read this please know that I am proud of the effort, and proud of the come back, and I am pleased with the direction of the team. You deserve better fans.
