We're in the mix for 1 or 2 three star guys. It's early still. We've missed the I-AA playoffs the last two years so we've been in a "slump" you could say. I think once we get through these two years of transition we will see the benefits more so.

The Haven is still the best resource for this kind of thing.

Any of you members of the Touchdown Club? They are having a social to its members to give the first look at the 2007 recruiting class. They are going to have videos of all our recruits. I am going, so I'll try to remember a few details to share.

Seems like we have a lot of slots to fill over the next couple of weeks.

In the fall we will be recruiting from the picked over remains or will there still be good players to be had?

I'm almost positive we have at least 5 more commits, but I can't get official confirmation right now. We seem to be hitting the Jucos hard to cover our selves during the next 2 transition years.

I understand we got to have players, but getting a bunch of Jucos defeats the whole purpose of transition. We're going to be hurting in two years for players. We need to get 4-year players to spread out our increased scholarships.

absolutely agreed. I would prefer a more sacrificial attitude towards this year. I would have preferred EKU and MTSU both at home in 2008 (since we have virtually no chance of making 15000 this year anyway) and recruiting as many freshman as possible... and redshirting as many as possible. That way we hit the ground running in 2009.

The purpose of the Jucos is to make sacrifices while we redshirt some of our stars such as Curtis Hamilton, Rumph, etc. Then when we become into the Sunbelt in 2009 we'll have a very seasoned experienced team with seasoned players.

I guess that makes sense. I am looking LONG TERM. This is not a quick success venture. Their will be bumps... I'm prepared to suffer through them. I want to do what is best for the long haul.

The attendance the next two years SCARES me. I agree with you. Put our two big games in the same year. Ransdell said in one of the forums that he wanted EKU and MTSU in separate years so if we miss it one year, we might get it the next. I subscribe to the idea of putting them both in the same year and slam dunk it every other year, which is what the NCAA is requiring.

The only thing I can figure is that he wants people to get into the habit of buying season tickets every year instead of having "good years" and "bad years" where people can just skip the bad years.

As long as we get the Indiana, Navy, Vandy, South Fl, type games that he has mentioned along with those two, we'll be okay.

What is the deal with the CJ reporting that we had home and home with Indiana, Selig saying that we had home and home with Indiana... but then appearantly it is 2-1??? What gives?

Not sure, but the CJ also said it would start in 2007, and that didn't happen either, so I wouldn't read too much into it.
