This time there was plenty of celebration for Eric Neihouse.

The Arkansas State kicker nailed a 35-yard field goal as time expired to give the Indians (3-3, 2-1) a 39-36 Sun Belt Conference victory Thursday night over Louisiana-Lafayette (1-5, 0-2).

In ASU's previous game, a 50-yard field goal by Neihouse with 1:22 left gave the Indians a 27-24 lead that disappeared less than a minute later when Lousiana-Monroe scored with 36 seconds left for a 31-27 victory.

"It is just an amazing feeling," said Neihouse, who had a field goal blocked in the first quarter. "I thought it was going to happen last week. I was ready to kick (Thursday)."

Neihouse's kick capped a fourth-quarter comeback by ASU. The Indians (3-3, 2-1) trailed 29-14 going into the final period after the Ragin' Cajuns' Josh Harrison scored on a 3-yard run with 3 seconds left in the period.

The Indian comeback began when Bracey, who rushed for 167 yards and caught three passes for 34 yards, scored on a 3-yard run with 13:31 left. Nick Noce then hit Levi Dejohnette with a 55-yard scoring pass with 10:08 left and then passed to Manuel Burton for the 2-point conversion to tie the score at 29 with 10:08 to play. The Indians took the lead 36-29 on Noce's 15-yard run with 7:01 left.

ULL followed with an 80-yard drive to tie the score on a 3-yard run by Harrison, who rushed for 87 yards.

"I am proud of our team for just staying in there," said ASU coach Steve Roberts. "We did not play well in the first half but it is a lot easier to stomach with the way we finished."

Roberts said Cajun quarterback Michael Desormeaux made things difficult for ASU.

"That quarterback is a heck of a competitor," Roberts said.

For three quarters, ASU had no answer for Desormeaux, who finished with 174 yards rushing and 97 yards passing. ULL finished with 554 yards offense while ASU had 458.

The Cajuns took the lead on a 17-yard run by Corey Fredrick on their first possession. A 2-yard run by Abdule Levier in the second quarter made it 13-0. Sean Comiskey kicked a 29-yard field goal to make it 16-0 with 32 seconds left in the half.

ASU got on the board in the first half when a desperation pass was deflected off two players and into the arms of Joe Smith in the end zone two seconds before halftime to make it 16-7 at intermission.

In the third quarter, ULL made it 22-7 on a 14-yard run by Desormeaux.

Bracey then scored on a 25-yard pass from Noce with 4:35 left in the third quarter to trim the margin to 22-14, but Harrison's touchdown right before the end of the quarter made it 29-14.

Noce finished 10 of 20 for 194 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 75 yards, also including a touchdown.
