When No ILL plays Temple, That would be 3rd concective road for No ILL. That's when upsets happen. Temple also sandwiched between CM & WM. It will also be homecomming. I like Temple spot in this game also.

And BG beat OU in Peden a lot more recently than OU beat Pitt there, if one is going to rely on recent trends as an argument.

Homecoming doesn't mean too much when you have a bad team. We ruined Miami's homecoming last season and they are a better team than Temple.

Everyone gets lucky every now and then, but let's remember we're talking about a 4-win BG team.

We didn't play BG on a Friday night before a packed house, big difference in atmosphere.

Absolutely anything can happen when you strap them up. As strange as KC's predictions of victory over over NIU are, stranger yet is the Kent State loss. Speaking of recent trends, how about loosing 4 out of the last 5 including a pummeling by Buffalo 41-14? I'm as dumbfonded as KSU fans at how nobody ever predicts you to win in basketball and all the love you're given in football. I was at the KSU-BG game last year and I saw right away how to beat you and I saw right away how to loose to you. If Golden looks at BG's and UT's games against Kent State and can't figure out how to beat you he's a terrible coach.

No more surprising than an Owl fan starting a thread that discusses a very good record and plans to go bowling. With your poor track record what sort of response would you expect when you guys come on here hyping up one of the worst programs in all of college football and saying they're going to a bowl game? MAC fans don't go out of their way to trash the program, they don't start threads to belittle them, but by the flip side when you guys start all this talking you get what you deserve.

I hope you don't think I'm bashing Temple. I just think you're probaby more likely to beat Kent than to beat NIU. I don't think there's a problem with Temple fans thinking the Owls will do well. Heck, we Toledo fans are kind of in the same boat because nobody but us seems to think the Rockets will have a winning record.

I'd agree with thin skin comment. On the flip side, I been posting on message boards since mid-90's. know matter what the topic of convesation was, people come out of wood work to thrash Temple, obivious to comment or topic. Tongue in cheek remark about Temple prospects in the off- season is not out of line. Also just because I'm Temple fan does not mean I know nothing about CFB. How ever board is improving.

Brother, I've got to admire you if you've been enduring this sort of bashing for over a decade and you're still such a dedicated Temple fan. God bless you.

I have learned a few things from MAC fans over the last few years.

#1 they are tired of being krapped on like Temple is.
#2 they hate being the little brother or the David of college football. As much fun as that can be at times they would rather ESPN praises them for the win then be shocked at the "upset".
#3 They feel they deserve the respect of a Top tier conference and institutions, as Temple does.
#4 The league really is a great match for Temple. IF Temple was located in Pittsburgh this would have been done a long time ago.
#5 There is no convincing half the folks that a 20 year loser like Temple has any chance against their team, regardless of anything. Don

Or Temple could consider how a BG team they beat handled a trip to Peden last year.

All a matter of perspective, I suppose.

Airport KC Wrote:[quote="templefootballfan"]Got look on the bright side, Int bowl is 1-5-08. That's my [50th]birthday. that would be great huh. Only promblem is, My brother works for Toyota. He called main office & asked about Gator Bowl tickets. They said sure how many do you want. Now I'm stuck going to Gator Bowl. That's allright, still have great time.

I wouldn't worry about Temple making a bowl.

This looks to be a 3 bowl year for the MAC.......nobody in the conference is capable of making a BCS game.......the Poinsetta Bowl will not be open this year with Navy in it.......the Poinsetta was only open for NIU last year because the WAC sent Boise to a BCS bowl otherwise SJSU would have received an invitation to that bowl.

1) You're assuming Navy will be bowl eligible

2) You're also assuming that no WAC team will get a BCS invite. While BSU lost some talent, Hawaii returns a boat load including Colt Brennan.

Don't close the door to the Poinsetta Bowl just yet.
