Receivers taking off...
Things have been going well for the Kent State receivers so far this spring...so well in fact, that they can now fly:

You sure that wasn't originally a vertical shot and fixed via photoshop. 02-13-banana
Actually, tell your photog that he took an awesome shot!!
I cannot wait to see how our new/existing WR turn out.
I felt that if we caught half of those dropped passes againstt Ohio,
the outcome would have been different. So, whats the latest on the
WR progress.

The best part of that photo to me is the number. That's Shawn Bayles. 04-rock The only guy in the MAC fast enough to catch Shawn is Curtis Eaton, so if he can start to make catches like the one shown, look out.

OV has lots about the receivers on his site. Apparently, Aaron Robinson is also making some noise. "Spectacular" was the description used by Doug Martin.

I believe that Shawn will have a great season this year. He has great speed and can run well in the open field.

The best receiver I have ever seen from Kent was Eugene Baker. Eugene was small (6-0, 167) and not as fast as Shawn Bayes. Although Eugene had decent speed (4.46 time in the 40), his best asset was his hands. Eugene caught just about every pass that was thrown to him.

Eugene led all NCAA Division I-A receivers with 103 catches for Kent as a junior in 1997. He set a school record that year against Central Florida when he caught 15 catches for 293 yards, including a conference record 98-yard touchdown. Eugene was a three-time All-MAC selection, and finished his career as Kent
