Watch the kid grow up effeminate and hating sports, not just his name. That would be poetic justice.

It's not mentioned anywhere in the article either way. But is there one shred of doubt that the guy and his wife never set foot in an OSU classroom?

Oh puke. This guy defines the idiotic "taking it waaaay too far" Buckeye mentality.

He has saddled his poor child with a name worthy of more than one daily playground beat down. Whatever happens, I hope that someday soon this bad parent deeply regrets projecting his irrational sports fetish on another human being. (He couldn't even pick a worthy team ;-) )

What's the big deal? So he got a unique name that doesn't sound like it's fabricated from faux French or from a fruit.

Granted, it's a tinny name (to quote Monty Python), but that's to be expected.

In Brazil children saddled with "Cute" or at the time "famous" sports (read Soccer) player's nicknames have the right to sue their parents and it's become a default action that is- just filing the suit demands parents apologize publicly and pay a set amount. If parents don't comply and give the child the ability to change their name they have to do some strange public service. One couple had to wear signs (and nothing else) apologizing to their son for naming him after a soccer player (who just had one name and two syllables to it), and pay for the process of getting the child's paperwork fixed to rename him to one of his choice- if rechosen name didn't fit judge's belief of a good substitute the judge had a wheel of names to get the kid a first middle and then taking mothers and fathers surnames for the record.

Wearing "we're Idiots" signs has to be the glory part of the punishment especially since they were starkers under the signs...guaranteed to garner attention.
REAL bad parents end up having to do the community service punshiment in their opponent/rival's territory too.

There've been complaints of being shot up with Rojaos (kind like hand held mini-mortars that fire a charge out of a hand held cardboard tube with stick handle...and others being hit with piss bags or worse.

If parents don't know what they've done is wrong and why, they are subject to a number of years equal to the child's name change of a name change of their own- but one of the judge's choice.

Few cases end up with the people going to jail except for one guy who threatened to kill the judge when his forced renaming of his kids to more normal names was associated with the team's collapse and pailure to make the playoffs.
I've yet to get that article from my friend's in Brazil, but it's in Campinas, Sao Paulo and sure to be funny as hell. Judge is a Dutch German transplant and takes no ****. And no bribes. He cleaned up several death squads and taped even the mayor trying to warn him and bribe him as well as the chiefs of police from several of the sities more notorius criminal sections.
The Judge smiled and hired blackwell and several out of work Mossad agents. Three exciting nights of Tom Clancy like games in the city streets and a expose on TV and the Judge was alive and all agents either captured or dead trying to escape capture. Talk about big balls and a bigger broom.
Wonder how long this well loved judge will last - they are hoping he'll run for mayor or govenor as other states have repatriated foreigners as leaders. Got cash- run your own state almost.
He's pure corrosion on corruption and folks giving their children stupid names.

How many folks would get the point and stop breeding or think clearer if state gave a newborn child a laywer and sued parents right off the block for a silly or stupid name- especially if part of the punishment was standing outside in signs saying "I'm an idiot who wanted to name my child XXXXX YYYYY, to associate him with winners and a school I never attended or something else....I'm too stupid to pick a name that wil give my child a real chance in the world- I shouldn't be allowed to breed!" Etc etc.
