WVU Job??
Heard on ESPN Radio this morning that Bielein has been reportedly offered the job at Michigan. If that is the case and he accepts than i'll be the first to call it that JC will be the next WVU coach.
I know this is getting old every time a job opens up but this one makes alot of sense. Mid-level Big East Job. Beilein has similar mid major backgorund as JC. They tried to hire MAC coach before (Dakich). We also scrimmage them every year so i'd imagine their AD may have some familiarity level with JC and what he's done here.
I have no inside info and I hope it doesn't happen but i have a gut feeling on this one.

If the WVU job opens up, Christian would be a candidate. I would think that a Big East program that has had some success would want a mid-major coach that has had some post-season success, but then they did hire Dakich, so who knows? Heck, maybe Dambrot is the hot commodity from the MAC right now, though his name has yet to surface, to the best of my knowledge. Let's face it, Christian, as would almost all young coaches, will leave when he can get a substantial raise in pay. I would like to think he would be selective, but I don't know the man or what he's thinking. As Kentville pointed out in another post, even some low majors are starting to pay more than the MAC, but I doubt Christian would step DOWN just for more pay. If WVU would want him, he'd be crazy not to go. As I pointed out, the problem wouldn't be Christian leaving; the problem would be making the right next choice. A program like Kent can't afford to make a bad decision (e.g. Dave Grube). Make a good choice, such as Oppenheimer, to name one, and I doubt Kent would skip a beat.

Hopefully Opp will still be with us for the picking.

I doubt Dambrot would be a candidate for a major job. No matter how much time passes his incident at CMU would hurt that. The press in the bigger cities would eat him and his family alive. Akron is a niche job that he can survive in. I am also sure after Akron he can take a step down and keep coaching but a Big East school with all the east coast press watching would be tough.

WVU fancies themselves big time now. I doubt they'll be seriously interested in Jim Christian.

I think Kentville's right (see my earlier post).
