Zane Gay
It sounds like Zane Gay is gone, but I haven't read anything official yet. Does anyone have confirmation?

GAY - GONE - WHERE
Gone where? Perhaps he is following in DVS's footsteps to get some PT. I can't imagine he'd transfer to another DIV I Program

P.S. WHO ADVISED THAT HE WAS GONE? ANY INSIGHT/INFO????

What, exactly have you heard and who have you heard it from? Apparently you are the only one to be "in the know". No one else has heard a word about Gay's future.

Why would EMU grant Gay a release to transfer to another MAC school?

That is assuming the rumors of Gay transferring to Ball St. are true.

I can understand that Gay might transfer, but why Ball State? He'd likely get similar minutes at most other MAC schools. He wasn't recruited to BSU by their current coaching staff because that staff is new. If the rumor was Miami, WMU, or a GLIAC school then I'd be more likely to believe it.

Hurondave, go get us the scoop!

I hope Gay stays at EMU. He's a solid contributor and a good shooter.

I thought that coach Ronnie was trying to build Georgetown Jr. in Munice. Zane Gay doesn't exactly fit with the image that Ball State has right now. Seems like an odd choice for the kid, even though its hard to blame him given his inconsistent and often minimal playing time.

I know for a fact he told Desmond Young (former EMU walk-on, currently at Adrian) that he had a meeting with Rams and is out, but doesn't know where he's going to play yet.

Since it hasn't been released, there's obviously time for people to change their minds and circumstances to change, but that's the situation as I know it.

From what I have been able to gather, yes, Zane has indicated a desire to leave the program but, as EMUAaron states, he has not indicated a transfer destination.

As of now, he is still in the fold. Ball State does not seem like a likely destination.

Now Rams may have two open scholarships to work with. Perhaps he'll want to use one on a JUCO player to help balance the class sizes. If Gay is gone then there will be only one scholarship junior next year - Medlock.

Good point on the number of scholies available this year. I agree with you, I would prefer Gay stay in our program because I think he can contribute. If it is by mutual agreement that Gay leaves to do better somewhere else, I wish him well (he is still the third highest scorer in Mid-Michigan history) as long as it isn't with another MAC program.

But for the sake of discussion, lets see we're looking at guard maybe Williams or maybe Reyes (there's very little out there on who we are looking at). One scholie down for the guard. Do you go after another guard or do you look at something like a JUCO or hs forward?

Lets not forget Cooper redshirted next year and could play big guard or small forward.
